Having written my car off last week (or shall I say someone else did) I was informed by the garage who carried out the estimation that the total cost of repair was £6750. The car is worth about 7-7.5k. The insurance company has declared it a total loss
So...if the figure they have come to is £6750 to repair, does that mean that they will only offer me less than that as a settlement? |

Depends on the small print of your policy. Usually they give you the price of a like for like replacement, but who knows when it comes to those evil insurance bar-stewards.
They promise you this that and the other when they sell you the policy, but if you do ever claim you can hear the dodgy intake of breath through clenched teeth when you quote what you were told when you bought the insurance. But then again you may be ok if it was the other persons fault... ouch my neck ![]() ![]() Mel |

Sorry to hear you had a write off, they'll send someone around to assess the cars worth & then they'll offer you that (if you were fully comp), hopefully it won't take too long
