restriction chip bargain
think ive made kind of a record! just got one off ebay for £12.00! arent they around £200 new? either way ive got a bargain.
not looking forward to fitting it like but it has to be done!! hehe |

its a different ecu that restricts the bike to 33bhp

Good bargain!
At that kind of price, I'd be tempted to plug it in to an EEPROM reader etc, but that's just me

yeah restricts to half the sv650s' potential...shame! hehe. thats around abour 33 bhp. can only use this many ponies for 2 yrs after passing and gettins a restricted lisence if ya dnt do a direct access
call me ignorant but whats an EEPROM reader? |

what do you do about a 33bhp restriction certificate for insurance then? not that I was ever asked for mine, but could be a problem in a write off situation.

or just dyno it in your own bike an carry round the relavent paper work. cheaper than gettin it fitted at a garage for just a flimsy certificate saying its a 33bhp machine

I spoke to Cupar and they will get you the chip and install it for you for £97 and give you the certificate, so i think ill be doing that one!
