Default Passenger seat

Hello everyone.

I'm new to this site and have owned my 2003 naked sv650 for a year now. It's my tenth bike and I am very pleased with the overall performance and value for money - great!!! My last bike was a brand new Tiger which was poorly finished and a little too top heavy - brilliant engine though.

I'm now looking to modify the SV so I can try some mild and/or distance touring with my wife.

Any advice on the following would be appreciated:

Screens and nose fairings??

Hard luggage - including top box with back rest??

Passenger seat - the stock item is a bit uncomfortable for my wife. Corbin sell a passenger seat for the naked SV (retails on Corbin website for $199 - seems fairly expensive but may be worth the money?) Any suggestions for alternative seat manufacturers would be welcome.

Power commander - useful??

Automatic chain oilers??

Handguards and heated grips??

Great to see such a busy owners website - hardly surprising with such good bikes.

Nice to meet you all and apologies if all the above is already listed somewhere.

Suilven

Welcome to the mad house.
Well I have a double bubble screen and its worth its weight in gold due to my rather lanky 6'4 frame.
Also have a Power Commander III USB and that also is a worthy yet quite expensive investment. Smooths the bike right out alothough I do have a full micron system, modded airbox and K&N.
Cant really comment on the rest as I dont do much touring anmore as over long distances I find the SV uncomfortable. But thats probably due to my height.
Well anyway, more people will be along later im sure to help.

We have custom seats on our curvy, from Bagster.

http://www.baglux.co.uk/seats.php

Fairly expensive, but that is for both seats being re-modelled, and you can pick your own colour scheme. These are ours, to give you some idea.

We also have a scottoiler fitted, which we would highly recommend, plus we use a top box when on holiday for extra packing space and security.

Hello everyone.

Screens and nose fairings??
DB is worth it as it allows cruising at 50 without a visor pretty comfortably
Hard luggage - including top box with back rest??
Givi do loads. Look for the monokey series. Often on ebay for quite cheap
Passenger seat - the stock item is a bit uncomfortable for my wife. Corbin sell a passenger seat for the naked SV (retails on Corbin website for $199 - seems fairly expensive but may be worth the money?) Any suggestions for alternative seat manufacturers would be welcome.
russianbrides.com, cheaper than replacing the seat
Power commander - useful??
you can get the ecu reprogrammed for much cheaper, however the standard fueling is pretty good, unless you have alot of engine mods i wouldn't bother
Automatic chain oilers??
not got one myself but always seen good reviews
Handguards and heated grips??
Got oxford heated grips, best mod i ever did. - with a half decent set of gloves you won't need handguards
Great to see such a busy owners website - hardly surprising with such good bikes.
merci, welcome along
