Ok so I thought i would take the bike for a spin the other night (first time in ages), and I switched the ignition on and the speedo display flashed all sorts of random numbers for a while before resting at 0. Went in put helmet on etc then wheeld it through from the back garden and went on my way only to find that the speedo is still at 0 and not registering any speed at all. Rev counter still fine. Tried looking through the old articles in search and couldn't come up with much I'm affraid so would be grateful on your thoughts at this point as will try and look at it Sunday.
For your info its a K3 (on an 04), being kept outside but under cover (moisture in connection somwehere?), and I have also had a digi gear indicator on there for a while using the extra connection loom (taped up securely) so no cut wires. Due to work and being a big baby I haven't used it much over the winter. It's only done 5.5K in years! Ta, Carl. ![]() P.S All is not going well for me - My car has just been driven into by some neanderthal who then promptly drove off while I was round my fiancees place, fortunately I have witnesses and both the police and the insurance are on to him! ![]() ![]() Last edited by Carl; 03-03-07 at 04:36 PM. |

Hmmm cool cheers but I'm ffraid my experience of the working of the bike (or any bike for that matter), is limited but I get the feeling that there's alot of problems with a rotor or somethng???
![]() Also some of the threads below are for an old curvy with analogue dials. I'm gonna have to start with electrical I think and maybe getting my hands on a service manual as Haynes don't yet do an updated manual for the pointy's do they? In the meantime the first MOT is due along with the tax so I think I have no choice but to SORN it until I can sort it all out and put the standard can on as I'm unsure if my Leovince will get through the MOT even though it's marked road lega;? (Still have the baffle pipe I can put back in. Ta, |

I definately understand what you mean. Mine started reading 369 when I was stationary before it stopped working entirely.
