Ok whats the score
I got a new job appointment confirmed today- start monday . but I want to go to norf meets south and the Ar07 .. both in June .? how do I stand. always my understanding that holiday s had to be honoured.. (but maybe only if its a booked receipted prove it holiday? and not a weekend jolly?) but- aint gonna go down too well is it? its the busiest time in June too in this new job and there is a stipulation of no hols in June.. but thats to already employed folk.. dif fo new staff I feel when hol have to be honoured. should I show them bth dates and say oi am prepared to drop th norf meets south but attend the Ar07? and show a bit of willing ( Scoobs- thats show a bit of will ing not show a bit of willy .. !) or what? cant insist can I on both cos they will think I am an ****. they would be right! but thats another issue...

My companys quite good at allowing this. After all, you can't help that it was already booked and paid for. They should be fine.

Usually they will honor the old leave booked, you should be ok mate.
When I swapped to Systems Support from Desktop Support they asked if I had any leave arranged. Your giving them plenty of notice, I should imagine that they will respect it. Fingers crossed for you! Cheers Rich |

yeah stick to your guns and go for both - most employers are fine esp if you've "already paid for the trips". And let's face it they're hardly going to decide you can't have the job and they're going to go through all the hassle of hiring someone else just cos you need a day or two off in 3 months time. just make sure you say it in a nice way tho

Depends if they want to be arsey. They don't have to honour pre-arranged holidays. What's the new job?

If this is a new job within the same company you should get it as they have already OK'd the time off. If you are starting with a new company, why didn't you bring this subject up earlier. TBH, if I were your new employer and you sprung some pre booked holidays on me knowing that it was policy for nobody to have the holidays at that time I would not be too impressed.

I'd just say "Oh, and I've already booked holidays here and here" myself. Yes, you want to get off on the right foot, but so do they.
