If you still have the tool kit from the SV there is a hinged tool & extension bar that is used to remove the spark plugs. If not, i cant remember as i have two spark plug tools and only 1 fits, which is good enough for me.

Its the smaller of the 2. 17mm (I may be wrong, it may be 19mm, but there are only 2 sizes of plugs, and its the smaller)

Surely it's easier to swing the radiator out of the way & check on the front, rather than lift the tank & check the back spark plug?

Not at all.
Single bolt to allow you to swing the radiator forwards, then you've got access to the front plug. (Well, it is on my bike) Or if you want to do 2 allen bolts, then prop the tank up, then check the rear plug (but be careful of stones falling in the hole if you take the plug out! Right pain that is!) Then reverse to put it back together, all to check the size of the socket. I reckon I could check & get the bike back together by the time you had your tank propped up ![]() |
