Default Breakdown cover - AA/RAC etc

Who are you guys with? Other than the AA?

Moving from the AA as they're being muppets with processing my details.

Just had a look at Green Flag & they don't appear to do bikes.
Tried the RAC & they wanted to set up an annual direct debit from my account - which I find rather cheeky: I'll decide come renewal time if I want to renew - I don't need/want it automated.

Who do you use?

I use Swinton Breakdown - it was thrown in with my insurance policy.

Green flag were brilliant when our mate binned his Gixer in Cornwall last year. Recovered the bike and provided him with a hire car to get home.

Have a look at NCI, they are geared up for bikes and are pretty reasonable too. Have used them a couple of times and they have been good.

I'm with AA and pay annually by direct debit. On the plus side it means that I can't forget to pay it, and therefore wont have a nasty surprise when I come to need them and find out that it has lapsed. On the flip side I do have to remember that the extra money is going to disappear from my account come renewal time.

At the end of the day, you don't have to set up the direct debit. If your going to pay annually just tell them that you do not wish to set up direct debit and will renew as and when you decide. Simple really.

AA cover the person and not the vehicle which is very good. But you do need to have a specific vehicle listed for cover of parts and things. They will only cover one specific vehicle which is fair enough.

I have had two consecutive bad experiences with RAC and wouldn't go near them again, but that's just me.

I've just gone with them as I insured my new car with the AA. If I took out AA cover with the policy then they reduced the premium by more than the joining fee. And they gave 2,000 Nectar points.
