Default Modifying...(streetfighering SV)

Hiya, i crashed my k2 faired sv and i'm streetfightering it now but i can't find a speedo, i was wondering if the speedo on the unfaired will directly connect, also if not then what about the speedo on the pointy sv???? Any other suggestions welcome as i can't find a speedo nowhere, also anyone know the diameter of the forks???? i think it's 41mm but am not sure.

Cheers!!!

A speedo/tach from a naked will work. It does have different connectors than a S though, so you need to replace those.

I'd recommend these though: http://trailtech.net/vapor.html
Add one of these http://www.trailtech.net/022-PDA.html and you have everything you need. I have this on my SV (curvy SVS converted to naked) and it works really well.

Loads of people have reported problems with the tach on the Vapor, did yours work alright?

No problems at all. I connected the tach to the coil just like the original tach (in fact, I used the original wire as well and spliced it to the Vapor tach wire inside the headlight shell) and it worked straight away. It's worth mentioning that the tach wire I got from Trailtech had an inline resistor, that might be why I didn't have any problems.

i recomend the vapour as well. looks neat if you get the aluminium surround as well. had no problems with the tacho. wrapped the wire supplied around the front ht lead and hey presto works first time!!!!
i im not using any of the idiot lights though, just got a seperate oil pressure guage and it all works fine and dandy.
