Default "Sold Secure" ?

Saw this online the other day:

http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/index.asp?pg=19

Think it makes a good point about how useless most chains are against a beast of a set of bolt croppers, and makes a complete mockery of sold secure testing. The videos are a fairly shameless plug for their products but it's interesting viewing.

Almax do seem to have a reputation as being one of the better security chains around

Problem with getting a massivly tough chain is that they just shatter them.

A neighbour had a Ducati 749 parked in his garden, two massive chains n locks through each wheel to 2 ground anchors.

White van pulls up at 4am, 4 large blokes jump out, pour liquid nitrogen (yep it's easy and cheap to get) on the chains to freeze them then hit them once with a sledgehammer to shatter them. Blanket over bike, onto a bit of scaffolding then away in the van.

No chain and lock is secure, but a solid secure gold chain n lock will put off petty criminals + usually give you a little insurance discount.

To be honest, using liquid nitrogen on anything will make it really brittle...so nothing can stand that!!

liquid N2....6p a litre.

Sounds like my cousins option is the best then, never mind thatcham rated, his is kennel club certified.

An attempted thief with a 9 stone rottweiller attatched to his neck would be sweet justice

Edit: Don't think my labrador would have quite the same effect

I'd strap a big dog to my bike, but then i wouldnt go near it, because i dont like dogs

Can anyone recomend an alarm to me? something simple. And hooked up to some sort of system that releases a poisonus gas (of my choice) upon activation?

Any cheap one, dissassemble it and wire sounder up to a relay and to a solenoid valve.

Personally I'd build a mini aerosol and fill it up with tabasco sauce.

We could be onto a winner here
