Default work-related whine - no bank holiday UPDATE - it's finished!

apologies to anyone who's ear I've bent about this already, but I'm working all weekend and need to vent a bit.

my department is putting out a major document in the next couple of weeks, which my team has been pulling together. as part of the process we have to do all sorts of parliamentary nonsense which means that we had to have the finished article ready yesterday so it can do the rounds. At 4pm on Thursday I found out that we are required to publish another explanatory document in parallel, which no-one had ever heard of, and without which we cannot go ahead. . guess who copped for it. and at 4pm yesterday we got another email from cabinet office saying "by the way, have you done x as well?" It's not as if we didn't ask them months ago what was needed.

I was looking forward to having 4 days off. I've been working all day so far and hardly made a dent in it. Bang goes the rest of the weekend.

and yes, writing this post is another diversionary tactic!

What to do the job she is paid to do and never did.

Overtime? days in lieu! You need to get a dose of reality. What makes you think she deserves anything more than a kick up the backside for slacking behaving like a civil servant

Seriously it is destined to be a crap bank holiday weather weekend. If you can work it and get back the time when the sun is shinning, why not

cheeky bleeder! It's not as if I've been underemployed this week either - saw midnight twice making sure everything else was done. I'm supposed to be a 9-5'er!

I've made some in-roads tho, just need to get in the zone to do some serious writing.

Thank you. I've already been offered cream cakes if I can get the word 'carbon' in 3 times (to a document that is about qualfications!).
