Why do people do the A68 from Carter Bar north

Carter Bar - A6088 - Hawick - A7 not one camera (unless its mobile) all the way

Edit: so how did this end up as 1st post in thread

Default A68 - Edinburgh to Darlington...

We've just got back from a quick visit to Scotland...

Instead of coming the usual way back (boring Motorways,) we decided on coming back down the A68 from Edinburgh to Darlington...

Anyway, my point is...

HOW MANY BLEEDIN' SPEED CAMERAS NORTH OF THE BORDER???

Its not as though they are outside village schools, in 30mph limits or anything like that, they are purely revenue makers

I'm getting really hacked off with the attitude of the Government and their stealth taxation of motorists etc

Have you ever looked at a speed-camera map involving the A68? You'd of known to stick to the motorways if you have! My road map has speed camera's printed in it too, granted it misses a fair few, but it gives a damn good idea of what a road is like.

Poor observation tax has really caught on up here. But on the bright side there are less traffic patrols doing speed and roadworthiness enforcement I love speed cameras

There are 30 something between Edinburgh and Aberdeen - there was only one that I nearly missed. Came around a corner in the mist and saw it 5m in front of me...

I just got back in from a trip as follows: Durham - Hexham - Jedburgh - Edinburgh - Dumfries - Carlisle - Hexham - Durham. So I did that road myself today and stopped on the border viewing point to change for a clear visor as there was heavy fog on the top of the hill. Got chatting to the piper who says his mate has counted 28 between the border and Edinburgh.

There is more to add to this on a personal note...but who knows who may be reading. I think I may have been lucky today, put it that way With so many crammed in it takes serious concentration not to miss one or two of them.

Oh and if you really want something to make your blood boil, check the new copy of MCN, there's a letter in there in which someone draws attention to what they believe to be baiting tactics by the police in and around Helmsley.

As long as he's not mistaken then it's a bloody disgrace. Check it out, you'll see what I mean...appalling.
