So the purpose of this new thread is for us parents to boast our proudest moments.
I will start !! My youngest (6) has been mad for the dirt bike. He has been to a local club for a few weeks now, and has made excellent progress. Well today, he made the very scary jump from being in the smallest circuit, to the next to smallest circuit..... the reason I am so proud is because he was very very scared, he was mixing with bigger bikes and bigger boys, he wanted to jib out, but he didnt .... he did it. He was steady, he was small, he was brave! His eyes when he pulled up in the little paddock area ..... very proud mum ![]() |

well done, well while we are boasting. my son has refused to write about personal stuff at school since the divorce (3 years). he passed a writing test the other day and did homework today which involved writing. hopefully we are coming out the other side. well done to all the clever kids out there and to all the not so clever ones.

Its these little acheivements that our little rug rats make that are so special. The activity itself is maybe irrelevant, its the watching them make these steps that's so special. Good for him kitkat, first steps are always the hardest.
Big thumbs up to all the kids doing their thing ![]() |

Makes you feel warm inside doesn't it
![]() Took my two down to the local canoeing club on Friday with the cubs. At the end the instructor said anyone brave enough could jump into the river from the towpath, about a 10' drop. They both did it, even Dan who's 5 and can't swim properly yet ![]() The restraint needed to let the instructor encourage them and not grab hold of 'em was something else ![]() |

If my parents are anything to go by, you'll never stop being proud of your kids. My parents where dead pround when my sister got her degree, and proud when my older brother got married, and proud of my twin when he was given employee of the month in his second month in his current job, and my dad seemed quite proud of me when i passed my bike test

Tomcat your story reminded me of some similar stories. I've got two boys who are into the BMX and Extreme stuff. They watch things on TV and wanna do it. You know how it is when you're 13 and 15. They begged me to take them to a BMX track. There was this big jump where you first pedal hard down a steep downhill ramp which then shoots you off around 2 to 3 metres high. At first both of them shyed off a couple of times but then both did it one after the other. I was there watching them, not knowing whether to stop them and take them home or let them be themselves. At these times its hard to be the parent. But when they landed down safe I was the proudest guy there. Wanted to cry, but loads of people watching so toughed it out
