Hi,
Had a full system and M4 can on my bike when i got it a couple of months back. Sounded awesome. However, decide that is was just way too loud so put the original system back on with original can. Needless to say it's now running rich (also has BMC filter and prob been rejetted) and feel that the engines being strangled, (also now idles lower) so what i'm needing is a good can that will sound good and compliment the filter and rejetting. I've read that FUEL cans are good and don't need rejetting however would it work better if it had been. How about Scorpion cans? Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated, cheers ________________ |

Most end cans are manufactured to run with standard jet and air filter its the full systems that need the re jetting and air filter. If you want to just run a end can on standard pipes then your best bet is to put the standard jets in and air filter. Scorpion cans are good for standard pipes also bluflame works well and look the nuts.

Been running a Fuel Can for months now. Sounds really nice, no rejetting, but have found it lumpier down the bottom end of the rev range.

if i was you i would look into getting a can which has a decent baffle in it and sticking that on the end of you proper down pipes. If you look at your m4 can it probably hasnt got a baffle in it and is most likely just a pipe to stop your feet getting burnt on the exhaust fumes. If you get any baffled end can it will drop the volume of the bike compaired to the race m4. As for makes of can i would go with remus cause the one i had was awesome and the build quality is outstanding. other than that scorpions and microns seem to be pretty good. ive heard some not particually good things about the build quality of blue flame exhausts but having never owned one i cant comment on that myself.
another option would be to try and get a db killer or a baffle for you m4 which would also make it quieter. How loud is too loud btw? My tl sets off car alarms its so loud and ive never had any trouble with it including on the mot. didnt even get a warning about it being too loud. |
