How easy would it be to shorten my carbon Scorpion can??
I am guessing that I would have to: Cut to desired length. Drill out rivets from surplus end. Remove end cap from surplus end. Position end cap on new length and mark holes for rivets. Drill new holes. Re rivet end cap to nice new shorter exhaust. Fix to bike and stand back and adore handywork. Have I missed anything ???? |

From what I remember, Scorpion Carbon cans have a ceramic sleeve inside. Will this be easy to cut along with the outer carbon ????

I chopped my standard exhaust in half (well not me literally) but my mate did, and he's a dab hand with stainless welding...did it for a bottle of Southern comfort...
Bike sounds awesome with the stubby can! |

Would also make the can "Not for Road Use".
ie the cops/MOT would not be happy with you. But a good idea none the less

Also there would be no removeable baffle - this would be loud all the time. You MIGHT get away with it but.....

Not an idea to totally throw away tho.
You can buy OEM exhausts on Ebay REALLY cheaply. Buy one, shorten it, get a sleeve made up so you can swap them over and you could have a VERY cheap louder can. Keep one standard for when appropriate. Many people run race cans all the time, its just a risk you have to be willing to take and £30 if you get caught. I tend to play devils advocate on these issues, but rarely am I sp black and white as to not find a solution ![]()
