So what what would you travel if you found the right one?
Under 50? 50+ 100+ Basically I've found one at 50 miles and another at 160, and after getting the salesman to go over the bodywork , was very clear to him that when he went over it, what I class as marks etc and I've also seen pic's etc Not saying I would buy without viewing Thought nothing of buying my new Sv650 from milton kenyes, but this is used so am I crazy togo as far as 160 miles |

weight it up..
how much will it save you, do you want it that much, how easy will it be to get it bring it back? I saved £1200 on my car by going to lonon to get it thats 200 plus miles but the train ticket was £30.... no brainer really |

I flew from Luton to Belfast to buy my Gixer thou, and rode it back via the Dublin-Hollyhead ferry. In the past I've flown to Newcastle and Glasgow to buy bikes.
If the price is right I'd fly to anywhere in Europe and ride back. |

I've never gone more than about 180 miles but I'd travel anywhere for the right car or bike.

10 miles is too far if the seller has misdescribed it. I'd do several hundred if I was sure of what I was getting though (and I really wanted it, price justified the travel, etc).

Travelled across to Ellesmere Port to buy my Mustang, Gatwick to buy my 325i and Richies Dad met me halfway from Barrow-in-Furness to buy my SV - all those from Norwich - its not very often there is something I want a close distance from where I live...

Got my SV from Cupar Suzuki, and they delivered it for £50. That is about 250miles away.
The car i got in Dumfries (closer to 350 miles) and bought off the VR4 forum. Just like someone on sv650.org, i could trust the guy. A fantastic drive home in the car made the small amount of initial worrying worthwhile. Local garages are waaaay overpriced. I'd go at least to Inverness (120m) or Glasgow (240m) if buying from one. Private buys, I'd rather get something closer to home next time. Depends on your circumstances i suppose. Last edited by haggis; 20-07-07 at 03:49 PM. |
