Default low end torque + up top h/p

ok .. i just recently took the sv650 on a 300 mile road trip .. ****in awesome bike .. ... i easily had confidence to ovetake and pass cars at highway speeds

well i was thinking about .. what kind of bike.. has the equivalent low end torque of the sv650.. but also has a high end where i can reach speeds 140+

i was wondering if the GSXR-750 had the low end grunt of a vtwin... i know it has a serious high end..but curious about the low end .. would it feel torquey like the sv650 also? one reason i ask is i raced a turbo VW golf around 80-100 mph..i did mishift for 1/2 a second..but couldnt overtake him..lol we just tied..before we hit a stoplight

any ideas of bikes that have best of both worlds....

i got pasted by a golf at those sorts of speeds on my 650s, off the lights you would easily do him but at 80,90,100 + the golf pulls strongly.

Bottom end is about the same on the SV and the GSXR-750, but once you get the GSXR passed 6000rpm it really really starts to pull, then when you get the GSXR to 9000rpm everything goes nuts...

The 750 pulls from 4000rpm easily enough, you've just have to stir the gearbox a bit more thats all.

The only car I've found that I havent been able to toast was a Porsche 911 Turbo, it had a private plate on it so I dont know what year it was exactly, but I think it was around the 2003 year era. It beat me 6th gear roll on till about 130mph and then I started to catch it agan.

My 1995 16v Golf GTI would leave me behind at 110 plus when I followed it one day on my SV. I found where the SV was begining to run out of puff, the car was still pulling, If you've been playing with a later Golf with the 1.8 turbo especially the later ones are 180bhp with bucket loads of Torque, I'm not surprised you couldnt pass him to be honest.

GSX-R750 or a litre bike? Lot of machine for a new rider though, isn't it?
