Default Preload Settings

What would people recommend I set the front and rear to? I'm a 16 stone fat git who occasionally takes a pillion but I was wondering what people would recommend for my day to day use (Which is mainly Motorways and nice large A roads)

What Dan said! If the ride is ok then don't bother adjusting but if you are taking a pillion regularly then jacking up the preload at least one notch is recommended for the rear at least if not both. Thats just a general rule of thumb. Its definately a trial and error area and your own settings are probably no good to most other people unless they have your size, weight and riding style!

I don't know why it works and I don't want to know why and I definately dont want to know how! Its a long story!

Uprate the front springs and then set the static sag to 25-30 mm depending on preference/opinion.

In the same way you measure a girls static sag when she's stood at the bar?

Nope never been slapped by a motorbike, but now most of the girls I used to know have restraining orders against me.
