Default Blueflame can

Had a problem with my Blueflame evo can. The short inlet pipe has broken free from the end cap of the can. Ive removed the rivets and dismantled the inlet end of the can to try and get it welded. The end cap of the can appears to be held on by some sort of adhesive aswell as rivets. Do I need to use this when I reassemble the can to get a gas tight seal ? If so what is it and where can I get it ? It looks a bit like silicon sealer.
Also Ive taken the opportunity to shorten the can by about 5 inches, does anyone know if this will adversly affect the running of the bike. Its a 2000 curvey.

Default Re: Blueflame can

Is the can metal or carbon fiber?

If it is carbon fiber I would recomend phoning up blueflame and they will recomend what stuff to use, as carbon cans have a habbit of cracking on V twins (blue flame put a titainium shet underneath to help protect from this) so I would want the right stuff just incase...

Else if its a metal can see below:

Do I need to use this when I reassemble the can to get a gas tight seal ? IF YOU DON'T WANT LOTS OF BANGS FROM THE EXHAUST I WOULD RECOMEND IT If so what is it and where can I get it ? ALL SORTS OF EXHAUST SEALANTS AVAILIBLE, JUST ASK WHAT THEY WOULD BEST RECOMEND IN HALFORDS, THEN SLAP THE SALESMAN AND CHOOSE THE CHEAPER ONE THAT DOES THE SAME THING. USUALLY NEAR THE PARTS SECTION It looks a bit like silicon sealer. IT MORE THAN LIKELY IS SOMETHING VERY SIMILAR, AND IT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO BE USED, JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET THE HEATPROOF STUFF IF YOU DO GO FOR THAT.

APART FROM MAKING MORE NOISE IT SHOULDN'T AFFECT THE BIKES RUNNING, BUT IF YOU DON'T SEAL THE EXHAUST AS YOU ASKED ABOVE, EXPECT LOTS OF "BACKFIRE" EXPLOSIONS IN THE EXHAUST, I LIKE THEM... BUT MY NEIGHBOURS, NOT SO MUCH. DOESN'T AFFECT THE REST OF THE BIKE.

Bluefllame cans come with a lifetime warranty, ring them and they should sort it for you...
