Right folks, I am almost definately going to double the mileage the insurance think I'm going to do. (The certificate does say approximate annual mileage..)
Should I tell them? What will happen if I don't and crash? How much is it likely to cost? (current premium £750 TPFT) Chris

I was curious about the cost when i got my quote for the R6 and from 2000 to 10000, it went up £8, if i remember correctly. Unlimited was roughly £30 more for me.

I was capped @ 2k per year, as i really didnt think i would do that many miles in my first year, although i did in just over 2 months!
![]() Rang Bennetts, they wanted a further £130 to take it upto 3k per year! Yet another reason why i went elsewhere (still not had my refund tho). Im now with Express insurance with mods covered and unlimited mileage, and still over 100 quid cheaper than Bennetts were to start with. |

They could ask to see MOT docs in the event of a claim to see what the mileage was at the last MOT however that would all depend on when the accident happened in relation to the MOT as they may not be able to draw any conclusions from it.

If you insured the bike at the same time as the MOT, I suppose they could ask to see it. If not as you say, it's completely inconclusive, 'cos you could have done 3 miles or 3K miles if insured only 3 months after the MOT. Depends on your circumstances I suppose.

Says on the "statement of fact" sheet they sent me; "expected annual mileage"
And they could check from the MOT cert, as it was insured before it was MOTd
