Default Some basic HELP with EXCEL pls

Right ok

I've created a s-sheet with some validated cells ie it comes up with a list of things you can choose to populate the cell with.

Now how do I grey out ie lock certain cells depending on your initial choice of the 1st cell?

Just tell me what to search for on HELP if it's long winded

Thanks

Not sure I understand what you need. Get us the spreadsheet. PM me if you need my e-mail.

But looks like you will need to write a macro to do so. Otherwise individual cells can be locked via format - protection.

yup need to explain better, as I don't believe you can easily restrict the choice somewhere else depending on validated cells in a different place other than a fixed choice using lookup

Not quite sure what you're trying to do but various approaches could include:
Lookups along with dropdown boxes (or other validations), also you could use conditional formats to make certain later options 'disappear'.

Kind of difficult to do without having it in front of you.

I'm not sure you can lock (protect) cells depending on what values are entered in the first cell, although I stand to be corrected.

this is what i'm after really

This is a User Admin s-sheet so for example if you choose in the beginning that your request refers to the Creation of a NEW ACCOUNT then cell "ID to use as model" should dissapear or be greyd out so that people cannot use it
