Im off to Barcelona !!!

I have a new fella and he is takin me to Barcelona for the Week
We are going on his ZZR1400 (which is a truly awesome bike by the way!!)
And stopping in Paris on the way down.
Any suggestions from anyone about places to visit or roads to use on the way down ?? Kinda wannna steer clear of the toll roads but we both have an atrocious sense of direction although he is getting a Sat Nav fitted before we go !!

If you can go via the Pyrenees, it's well worth it..............fabulous roads. Barcelona is great. Don't miss Los Ramblas..............the living statues are a marvel. I would suggest getting a bus day pass and doing one of the tours. You'll see all the major sights then, including a visit to the Nou Camp if football is your thing.

Thanks for that The hotel we are staying in is on Los Ramblas and definatly going to see the Nou Camp I am seriously hoping there is a game on while were there
Will look into going via the Pyrenees but time is an issue I think

Well we stopped down the road in a place called Sitges, its a great night out btw, best google it first though. Btw I went with the wife in case anyone is wondering, great place though. Nice to see you back btw, I found your puck in the boot of me car the other day so Im using it for me bike, hope you dont mind

Barcelona the city is great, the Catalan people though suck big time. Not too noticeable as a foreign visitor but if you are from another part of Spain and they hear your accent they can be as ignorant as your worst French waiter.FACT.

Nou Camp is impressive and yer man Norman Foster has just been awarded the job as designer for the New Nou Camp! I was impressed with his design which incorporates an external facade as a giant colourful mosaic of coloured tiles. Well that was until last week when having a coffee in Malaga and noticed the tables in the cafe where the exact same. So he's a cheating fook that is getting paid a massive wedge for his unique idea! Doh!

Just keep an eye on when you plan to go as the weather from now until March can be very wet and miserable.

Dont wish to spoil your plans but getting tickets for a Barca home game is like getting Supervox to admit how brilliant Ducati are!(Private joke!) The place is almost always sold out.

As mentioned a trip down from the mountains of the north would be glorious but winter time might not be the time to consider such a trip.

Defo worth trying to get tix for a footie match at the Nou Camp though. When we went to Barcelona we managed to get VIP tix for a match there and it was amazing.

I am sure you are 100% correct as far as the atmosphere goes as the catalans do get behind their team a lot more than the idiots at the Bernabeu supporting my team Real Madrid.

Presently Barca are THE most entertaining team in La Liga and with Lionel Messi they have a young guy who really is a joy to watch,(wish Real had him!)

Messi is, without a doubt, the most talented younster playing today. Barca are a joy to watch with him, Ronaldinho and Henry playing.
