the council I work for is in the process of working out new wage scales for everyone. Basically everyone doing the same job will be paid the same amount. Doing extra training or having 20 years service does not earn you any money. great for the new bodies coming into the job but no incentive to do any training. then heard that class room assistants who work in special schools will be on a higher hourly rate. what happened to equality.

The same kind of thing has just happened in the NHS, a fair few people aren't that happy about it, being young and new to the NHS I've come out of it fairly well so I'm one of the happy ones .
