Clearly Sarah has taken the leadership role, and I thank her for it - Good job.
Hopefully she has not given up on the more frequently meeting date, as I think there is enough call for it.
Trying to be constructive I would like to support the additional meet, thus making the Taffia gathering a fortnightly event. During the winter months "The Wharf" and the summer "The Blue Anchor" in Aberthaw, and a different day, the 4th Tuesday of the month.
I call for Sarah to add these dates and venues to the schedule (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=101798), and that we now draw a line under this.
Now I would definitely come along to the Blue Anchor as that is only about 20 or so miles from me along a nice twisty road.

Look how the poll is going. Tuesday and Thursdays being the most popular. Sarah is going to let it run a little longer but I cant imagine it changing. You can make the Thursdays, so your not totally excluded. It's a compromise or we will be discussing this 'till doomsday.
why not stick with the thursdays, as every one seem to have voted for that, or even a monday,
as i work every tuesday

Please don't beg David.. It's not becoming of the Taffia Godfather. It must be a majority decision.. Although, all things being equal, your not working on thursdays must be quite a deciding factor for the soldiers of the Taffia. I certainly vote for Thursday and Hovis at the Blue Anchor!! (But I thought you didn't like going there?)

im not keen on the warf only down to its location, not keen on all the cameras, traffic & drunks in the city on the way home.

Hovis, why do you think the meet would happen on a tuesday ?
If you look at the Poll, it quite clearly shows a majority vote for Thursday, so if the result of that poll stands then you have a democratic vote for Thursday.
Just seems like its pointless bickering and the conversation is still going round and round.
Nobody from what I can see is talking about replacing the existing meet, all Sarah has proposed is to have a 2nd monthly meet that might serve different interests / requirements and is in a slightly different location.
Whats wrong with having a pub based meet if thats what certain people want, the Mofo's do.
I dont see what the problem is or am I missing something ? If you dont like whats being proposed, why not propose something else instead of complaining. If you dont like the wharf the don't go. This needs to be a majority decision and not something that only suits one or two people who shout / complain the loudest.

Rghto OK I missed that, but it does go against the majority vote for thursday and I can't see Mogs enforcing the Tuesday thing and gonig against the consensus.
Hovis, you're only one voice I appreciate it that you might have been a founder member, but I dont see its fair on the majority if everything is re-organised to suit your needs at the expense of everybody else...
Like I said if you dont like it propose something else, failing that don't go to the meets.
IMHO.
If the bickering keeps up then I'll lock the threads... Its not solving anything.

Righto OK I missed that, but it does go against the majority vote for thursday and I can't see Mogs enforcing the Tuesday thing and going against the consensus.
At the time I suggested the Tuesday the vote was very close. We need to be careful with the poll as it's possible to vote for more than one, it's not the case the one with the highest is the better. If we fix on the Thursday then there is a real possibility that someone who would attend can never make it. If you look at the poll you will notice that ejohnh is not available on Thursdays, but is on Tuesday, as is Tel, both live west of the city so the BA will be more convenient for them. CeriJC also lives in Barry, but we rarely see him at Taffia meets, is this because he can' manage a Thursday? I'm not sure, but I think Jabba (quiet but still around) finds the Thursdays difficult too.
Therefore I think that sticking to the Thursday is just as unfair. Hopefully opting for a different day will allow everyone to make a meeting at least once a month.
This petty bickering and whinging is getting quite wearing. Sarah is fully aware of all the facts and opinions by now and has said that she will leave the poll open a little longer so that others that have not yet voted have a chance. I'm sure she will attempt to find a balance, and I will support whatever decision she finally makes.
Of course if she makes the wrong decision, I reserve the right to whinge about it at every opportunity for the next year especially if she choses a wednesday. :)
