i took about 7.5inches off i did it like yorkie chris by taking off the bottom cap and cutting out a section on the bottom but if i was doing it again i think i would take off the top cap and cut the top because the center cylinder bit of the exhaust was a b**ch to get back into the top end cap maybe worth taking a note how far the center cylinder tube goes into the end cap.hope this makes sense

why was the tube hard to get back into the top cap? and how did you eventually do it?

well it was just hard to get it lined up right, patience was the main thing then start hitting/taping then end cap in. Like those before i had to cut notches in the end cap and bend them over a bit to aid getting the end cap into the exhaust. N.b. also hard cos it is a tight fit in the first place!

which end did you cut off? From the downpipes or from the end?

Just gone and had a look at mine.. here's a couple of pics. To me (and I don't know a thing ;)) it looks like a bit too much work to cut this down, or is it doable?

It screws in from the end, not on the sides of the can itself.
