Haha, well I have to keep going back to Basingstoke, as got to keep going to the hospital for stitches/staples being removed, checkups, x-rays etc.. Won't be riding there again in a hurry though!
It was the Chineham (A33) roundabout- the one with the red people across it.

hm, im surprised you managed to bin it there! more likely to get knocked off there! all of basingstoke is a nightmare tbh...il be glad to move out of here!
Was lucky that there wasn't that much traffic around at the time. I ended up the other side of the central reservation, in the middle of the road unable to move. So quite lucky that here wasn't any traffic hurtling down towards the roundabout from the other direction, otherwise things could have been a lot worse.
Hey James,
Will you be wanting a lift again to the Shire this coming Tuesday :?:
If your going to drive up again then I wouldn't mind :D. But if you want to ride up, then ride and I'll go to the next one. Cheers

If you want to go I'll drive. There really isn't that much difference between the Dullsville and the car. I'll pick you up around 7 again.
You can always trust a woman to mess a blokes plans up. It would appear the use of the 4 wheeled vehicle is not an option this coming Tuesday.
Something to do with a stupid candle party or something. As a consequence, I will not be able to get James to the Shire. Is there anyone else that can step up to the task :?:
No takers. Come on someone local. It wont break you to take the car just once and go get James.

I'm at uni tomorrow and i have a feeling we will be staying late to finish our assignment.
Might even have to go direct to the Shire, or more likely turn up late. :)

Where do you live James? My gf wants the car though, so I was probably going to come on the bike :( fecking cold though today
EDIT: Might have to comandeer the car, BBC weather says it will be -3 tonight by the time we go home. Don't fancy 30 miles of that!
I live the other side of Reading, nr junction 11..
Don't worry about picking me up, I'll try and get along to the next meet!
Had x-rays taken earlier. Unfortunately not showing much sign of bone growth around the pin yet. So gonna be on two crutches for another 4 weeks, till it's x-rayed again. Which is a shame.
However, I can start putting more weight on the leg over the next few weeks, so that by the time it's x-rayed again I should be able to put most of my body weight on it.
So looks like I won't be riding till around mid April time...

It will fly by mate, you should be riding just as the weather improves and the evenings are longer. Defo not missing out riding in this weather!

Unlucky mate, but it could be worse.
Nick's right about the weather as well.
It's always a knock back to find out things have not gone to plan. Ask Rictus about that one. Best of luck with it. I wont have the use of the car again this coming Tuesday, so if there is anyone out there that can bring James to the Shire, jump up to the plate now.
If I'm working from home on Tuesday, and I hopefully will be, then I can probably do the shuttle run. Bit out of my way (!), but any excuse to rack up some miles in the shopping trolley is good enough.
Earley? Or is the map wrong - the pointer seems to be in the middle of a field by the M4.

I don't think it's a major knockback. More of a dissapointment really, I think because the doctors had seen all the superficial injuries healing up pretty well, and fairly quickly, they were hoping to see signs of bone growth around the pin, but unfortunately 6 weeks after the ops hadn't been long enough.
Should be better come 4 weeks time, especially if I am able to walk with all
weight on that leg, albeit with crutches still. Then hopefully at least one crutch will be taken away. [-o<
Once I do get to that stage where I can put weight on that leg, then I think I might start riding again.
