My grade 2 all over costs £6.75

Why pay for a grade 2 all over? Buy some ceramic hair clippers and they'll last for years and are about ?25!!
That's exactly what I did ... partly because I can now give myself a haircut whenever I feel like it, and partly because sometimes there's that little to take off that it just ain't worth it ... but when I DO decide to go the local barbers I'm only charged ?3.50 for a #1 all over (they only charge me that cos they feel sorry for me probably and like I say, so little to take off) LOL

I got a set of ceramic clippers so I can do my hair (what's left of it) whenever I want, but my local barber only charges me £3.50 anyway for a #1 all over - I think it's cos there is so little to actually take off :-P

I would mess up around the edges and they would be wonky etc :(

Yeah, that can be the hard part, but it comes with practice ... but I also know that my local barber shop can do a better job, so sometimes I'd rather they just "tidied it up" ... as opposed to me trying to use a pair of scissors close to my ears ... one day, I swear, I'll look like Vincent Van Gogh

You don't need ceramic clippers, we've had a steel set for easily 10 years and they're still fine. For probably 3 years of that they were used on me, my brother and my dad once a fortnight.

i use babylis clippers to cut my sons hair every month or so. used to do hubbies before that. the clippers are about 12 years old now and are beginning to die slightly. Instead of cutting the hair they seem to pull it out instead. Might have to invest in a new pair. It saves me £5 a month as that is what the barber charges which is disgusting as its a number 2 all over, no skill required.

I dont have this problem as i carefully do style my hair twice a day to make it look good, and have it coloured once a month with highlights.

My missus thinks im vain

ah ok, no worries :p

one of my mates straightens his hair loads...makes me chuckle.

I cut my hair as short as it is purely because it goes all wavy and curly if it gets longer, which looks pretty damn stupid on a bloke of 45 whose hair is starting to thin out.

Apparently Chris's hair will go curly (well I think he told me that once...) if it ever was allowed to grow that long which needless to say it isn't :p He's always had it as short as possible anyway, so would be mighty odd if saw it any different!

Men have it so easy!

Nah, it gets greasy and I end up smelling like the dogs toe.
The solution is to use shampoo, however I'm a lazy sod, that and hair takes ages to dry, too much hassle.

Cheap hair cuts... I wish!!!

I have to pay 35 quid to get my hair done every 6 weeks and thats cheap.. the woman comes to my house but if i went to a hairdressers it`d cost me treble that!

And body hair!!! don`t get me started... has tonight cost me 35 quid! :(

Anyone else have a missus who insists that these hair straighteners are the best?

Cant see the difference between the spec of a 20 pair of ceramic 1000watters and these ghds that cost me a 100 quid a throw?

they must think were madThe specs maybe the same, but in reality, they are the best.

My girlfirnds sisterin law used her GHD's over the new year, and she has an expensive set of cermic straighteners and her words where 'ah, thats what all the hype is about!"

For some reason she managed to burn her lip with them, so no snogging for her last night.

hahaha...... come out of hiding :D

My hair does have waves and kinks but if i were to "do it curly" so that it looked semi decent it`d probs take longer than straightening it!!

Yeah I know what you mean. My hair is getting too long atm and I just leave it to do what it wants. Due for a cut soon (yey!) but I couldn't resist a pair of curling tongs I found in a recycling shop a few weeks ago for ?2.50 and they're great fun :D but too time-consuming to bother with unless I'm going out

Yeah i`ve emailed the seller and he`s gonna replace them, will post them off tomor. I bought some of those curly twisty tong things... they`re brilliant but takes so long to do that after getting half a head of curls i lose interest! The half a head looks good tho :D

I've been cutting my own hair now for about 3 years, i occasionally use clippers but it stays moderately long, I would look like some sort of half-breed with no hair.
