have you tried that sort of lid on before so you know that it fits snuggly and which size to get??

Careful with the tabs that hold the chinbar in place, mine broke.

These type of lids are fine for the city ( you can have a fag whilst poddling along) but aren't really that good for any distance, the void in front of the face is a little larger than most and makes them a bit noisy and they can even suffer for rain coming down the inside of the visor in heavy weather.

as a second helmet OK but a little limiting as your only one I'd say.

Cheers Mark.

Have you tired on an Arai lid? I like those and they fit well....

.. the best bet is to go and try on various types of lids to see which make fits your head size the best... it's not really something to just go on the bling factor (although very tempting in some cases) as after all it has to protect your head ;)

i have tryed both on and find roof nearly tears my tabs off getting it on but fits snug and the hjc is also a pain as the breath thing pokes your eyes out tryin to get it on !! but feels so light and plush :p prob need to buy one of those silk balaclavers :safe: to stop me ending up with ears like a loose head prop

Why would you want an expensive open face helmet with a non-protective chinbar? Despite their claims that the chinbar will spread the force of the impact, it doesn't pass CE approval as a full face helmet, but so many other flip-fronts do, even the Nitro ones. They can't legally use the word protection when referring to that chinbar

I really wouldn't buy one, I haven't heard much good about them. I couldn't give a monkey's what a helmet looks like as long as it's black and is as safe as I can afford.

No-one ever looked fashionable wearing lumbering great boots and a kilo and a bit of fibreglass atop their bonce. Buy an Arai and forget inferior items for good.

Besides, if you're going fast enough no-one has a chance to see how good your helmet looks, so fashionable bike gear is only for slow people.

the HJC aint inferior or i dont think it is, its MCN'S 2nd highest rated helmet at the mo

HJC are ok, but when you start looking at £200 helmets you might as well get the best...an Arai.
