Just checked. Looks okay upto about 13:00 then we have light rain which then stops again at about 19:00. Should just get away with it.

Depends on Phil/Nick.
I'd suggest 10.30 departure from the Shire Horse, which should see us make a brief pitstop at Fox's around 11 to pick up anyone for the rest of the run, getting back to Fox's about an hour, hour and a half later.

Sunday=rubbish weather.
Move what you had planned to Sunday and then you'll be free. Consequently if Saturday is to be spent watching Reading you're probably better off on the bike. ;)

Look for a bloke in a Kawasaki fleece, probably riding an RGV250. Or a fat bloke in white boots. One of us will most likely be there.

That was a good spin today, though I may have been a bit slow. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up better soon.
Anyway I don’t have a clue why my bike started running and sounding like a bag of poo after fox’s but after a couple of seconds going down the road it seemed to sort itself out and ran fine all the way home, no backfire, no judders nothing. I think/hope it was just some crap in the carbs. After all it had been sat for 5 months.
Think I’d best get some new leads and spark plugs just encase, and get my carbs cleaned and set-up.
Did many turn up ??
I assume Brighton tomorrow is a no due to "inclement" weather.

So what happened?
I am in the Swindon / Gloucester / cheltenham area a lot, in oxford a bit and am up for sociable ride outs
So what happened?
A fatal accident. See just about every other post in the TVSF since then.
Un-stickied. A stickied rideout thread, who thought up that dumb idea :?:

Think we need to get this thread rockin and rolling again?
ASM certainly wouldn't want the last posts in the ride out thread to be about him and his accident. So think we all need to start thinking about some decent ride and routes. I am certainly thinking about doing some longer trips around the country so when I get a moment I will start planning them and will post them up when they are ready.

I think what Si meant was that this thread will just turn into one big mess with a hundred past rideouts in it. Much better to have a dedicated thread for each rideout, makes it easier to follow I reckon.

Can we not use this thread to discuss ideas and then when we have a plan post them and sticky as normal....just a thought.

That was the idea, but people were not using it. Such as this weekend for example. May as well bin it.

Anyone fancy a bimble this weekend? Sat 10th would be best for me but can do either. Not thinking of doing anything major but with the weather looking so good I feel the need to be on the bike!
Thought I would post here to guage interest before starting a dedicated thread.

Could do sat either morning or afternoon.. or evening come to think of it!
I'd be possibly interested in a morning or afternoon bimble. I'll have a pillion too.

Depending how a couple of phone calls go today, I may be out bike shopping at the weekend, which'll mean a trip to either Peterborough, Swanley or Folkestone. Shopping loves company...
That sounds like an all day job. Wont possibly be able to do that. Besides, going shopping when it isn't you that's buying is depressing.

Sounds good to me. My gf is going to be doing course work on Sat so just want to get out of the house. Would be interested to see and sit on some different bikes as am partially interested in an upgrade myself.

Hmmm
Bike shopping or a ride - I'm torn.
Well some bloke apparently wants to buy it tonight, so this evening I'll probably either have the readies to go shopping or I'll find my garage door off its hinges and no bike.
Fingers crossed it's the former, in which case I'll be trying to work out how to get to Folkestone or Swanley this weekend without driving.
Best of luck with the sale / robbery.
Either way, you'll get your cash.
Well the bike's still in the garage and I've not heard any more from him, so I think I'll file that one under timewasters.
My impulse-buy glands are on fire atm, so I'm trying to decide between £2200 to trade up to a 9000-mile K4, £2700 for a 5000-mile K5, or sit tight and do the deal privately. Decisions decisions!
Drifting off-topic here a bit, I fear...
Right. I'm off to Swanley tomorrow to look at a 750. It'll be a boring ride in dismal weather, but needs must.
