I am really ragged off today

I am leaving this forum

I made a comment in a fun thread which was taken seriously by some people who have nothing better to do and some people who are too sensitive- it was in the bum thread in idle banter so surely people should expect comments given the title and indeed some banter- I never make direct insults and there was no intention.My humour is sarcastic and cheeky and sometimes near the knuckle but I have seen a lot worse comments on here - and many not intented humour

My humour is my cloak of protection - sometimes it is taken the wrong way - I dont apologise for that as I know its not true intention. if somene takes it wrong or literal then maybe the issue is with them and not me.


I have been here for 4 years and nearly 7000 posts and most people know me and know my sense of humour. I consider myself well known on here and I hope- liked. Look at my posts- my picture threads look how many people view them .. The majority of people know me at the rideouts and Annual meets and now I feel compelled to leave- not out of some guilt for words said but from annoyance and protection of certain people and to allow me to get to the bottom of a certain situation with a clear conscience

I dont want to become too frustrated and post some truths on here that maybe need to be said and give people the whole picture as that would not help anyone on here. I would rather let it reach conclusion out in the real world

However- after all these years and fun on here I have just about had enough . you PC people with a few months on here can win.
I am beyond caring.
This is an escape from a world that is too PC and you cant have a laugh this is supposed to be fun and beneficial

This place has been my rock for many years - latterly during my divorce it, and the many many friends I have made on here have kept me sane and been very supportive- YES I am loud , yes I am cheeky but that is all. I am not intentionally offensive and try and bring some fun to to a sad sad world. - seems it just got a bit sadder.

what with mels post and now mine I worry for the way things are going.

This was a fabulous community - it still is - just dont need other people with alterior motives fighting someones battles when there is no battle in the first place. Dont need personal PM's threatening PM's and dont want to reveal who and when and real reasons why- which I will do if I stay .

A word to the wise - posts and texts can be misconstrued- there is no easy understanding as in the spoken word... so be careful what you say -

Those that I am close to on here have my number and msn and e mail so all is good.. now I can go really sort out the true reason for all of this- see you around. cant even list youall as there are too many - I hope thats indicative of my years on here and my general acceptance.

but IMHO there is nothing on there that would cause gratuitious offence, as Quiff has said it's just banter.

Any comments passed appear to have been between people that know each other, and know each other well enough to have that kind of banter.

It woule be a great shame if someone left or felt they had to leave because of "THREATS" made by PM.

That IS out of order, and far more so than any (un)intentional offence that may have been caused. Reading Quiff's lengthy post again it appears that at no time did he mean to cause anyone offence, but for some to go as far and send threatening PM's then surely that is INTENTIONAL.

Tell you what, that is a great example of the great bloke he is. The man is a warm and happy chappy to be around. Remember on way to AR never met anyone off site and he was chatting away to me asif he was my best mate. Met him a few times since and then when he come down to Silverstone the other week, we walked down the pit talking and catching up :) I have all the time in the world for the bloke and can't believe it has come to this.

OK this is what I think the story is and it's sad that this has happened.

Quiff posts a comment about my ar$e and face being the same in his usual comical tone, I post in reply partly in jest put partly wondering if it's a dig but my personal life and issues at the mo are making me a little down to say the least so I think I am being paranoid and it's just a joke. These feelings I keep to myself and do not post on the public forum.

In the meantime Quiff has apologised in PM. I go to sleep assuming the thread will continue as it has been, banter, even I have slagged myself off on there :D

This morning I wake up to the odd PM or two, one being from a mod, so i am thinking hey ???

I have told Quiff he has no need to leave the forum over this and that if I was sensitive thats' due to matters people won't be interested in, but personally I don't think my reply was bad ... sure I will get told otherwise.

Me and Quiff have sorted the issues out off the forum, although there weren't any, and both know each other well enough to know we both didn't mean anything from our posts.

Anyway, I feel really uncomfortable on this forum to be honest and have taken the decision to leave. I know I will be blamed for Quiffs sharp departure so the PC ones can have a pop at me in public instead on PM as I won't be about to read them. I will be popping on when I have time to PM my mates and make sure they have my details.

I have spoke to Quiff and he is adament he is not returning and it goes deeper than this last issue but as I have told him "he is wanted back on here and noone would think less of him for returning to his flock LOL"

I must admit there has been a bit of an odd atmosphere about on here of late, but bearing in mind people have had to deal with a lot of recent, it's perfectly understandable why tensions would be getting high. That whole thread about Mel got way out of hand, but Mel's still here isn't she!?! And that escalated a lot more than the odd post about bums :rolleyes:

Having reread the posts in question a few times now I could see why people would take offence but tbh, I've read a lot more potentially offensive posts on here and nobody batted an eyelid then!

Whether or not this is a matter of people being extrasensitive at the moment I don't know, but I'd hate to see two well-loved orgers leave this place over something so seemingly trivial :(

I for one find the degree of melodrama in this thread entirely distasteful. Far from being a rufty-tufty biker community I now discover that it's full of jessies who get their knickers in a twist at the slightest provocation. "You're a poo-head." For the confused, look at the beeb news for some kids TV presenter; I sense however, from Ogden, a heavy sense of irony - there are bigger things going on in this world that today of all days has highlighted.

The protagonists (and they weren't even protagonists to begin with, they just appear to have been built up as such) have kissed and made up (this thread, useless, pictures, etc), why we still worrying about this I don't know.

As many others have said, dont let other people make you feel like you have to leave the forum - you've both probably been on here longer than they have!! Plus..aslong as you (& your real friends on here) know exactly what happened / what you are both truly like (i.e. lovely people :D) Then who cares what others think and say?

Just report the offending people to the Mods and be the bigger men and women and rise above them. I dont post on here much (due to work blocking facebook) but you both seem nice and your posts make me smile :)

Quiff, since when have you placed more importance on what the casual provocateur thinks (not syaing this is the case but it's clearly something you elude to) to the much wider community that has built up around you, which you have helped to evolve? I know your photography is just as bad as your sense of humour but just because one or 2 people may appear to you to have loud divisive voices but this does not mean they are more than just one or 2 people or hold any weight at all. You have a lot of friends here mate which I think you may regret if you discard them now.
