. . . I wasn't :p.

So I hopped on the bike and set off.

Found a fantastic road. The Pennine Massive probably know it. I think it's the B6160?, off A65 on to Grassington and Pately Bridge. Passes by Burnstall and Bolton Abbey.

Stopped for lunch at Bolton Abbey. Fantastic place. I'd not been before, and will definitely be going back!

Had to share my lunch with these two. They made such a racket I had to feed them.:D

Then I decided to work off the calories I'd just ingested by walking to the next car park. Those than know Bolton Abbey, I was at the Cavendish Pavilion and intended to walk up to Strid Visitor Centre. But half way there I was absolutely shattered and had to turn back:pig::pig::pig:

And to divert my attention from how lazy and unfit I've become, I enjoyed the scenery. It is a truly beautiful place.

They allow small dinghies and canoes on here Luckypants. May be better than Wales :p.

Then back to the pavilion to rest my weary self...... again

Quick stop at Bolton Abbey Fountain. . . despite the double yellow lines8-[

Then off to Pately Bridge, Ripon, Harrogate and finally home.:smt041

Next week I intend to drive to Bolton Abbey and run the entire length of the place!!!

And I'm looking into getting a better camera. Any suggestions? Up to £500.

I cant see them as im at work... but Ill look forward to having a look.

I managed to get out for a couple of hours. Went down to Scarborough (from Fylingdales on the A169) and got GTA4 then rode back. Was a great ride, really really warm!

Looks great Mel, as far as getting a cam goes, you dont need to spend anywhere near £500 to get some good kit! What is it you are after? Point & shoot/compact/lots of manual options/slr?

Meh! The interesting stuff on the Wharfe is further up. Looks a reasonable level so Linton Falls (near Grassington) would have been fun. Good day out Mel, can't believe you haven't been to Burnsall before!

..as were your last ones.

Money on a new camera won't be wasted...
You obviously have a good eye for the photos... and seem to be talented at finding great scenery as well.

Looks like a great ride.....

(Now I'm REALLY wishing I didn't have to work this weekend) :smt089

No idea what I need. As a complete novice, I want something much better than my current camera. My current digimax is a 4 mega pixel one. I'd like to be able to zoom into subjects without losing the picture quality?

WHAT GIVES PEOPLE THE RIGHT TO HAVE A DAY OFF WHENEVER THEY SEE FIT AND THEN HAVE THE AUDACITY TO POST EVIDENCE OF SAID ACT ON ERE ITS TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS. calm down its just a commercial.

Panasonic FZ8 would be my recommendation as it is considered a "bridge" camera in that it is a step a little more than a point & shoot but not a digi SLR. You can however use it simply as a point and shoot or can explore the manual functions. It also has a 12x optical zoom which means you can pick out objects without loss in picture quality

Fuji & Sony also do some similarly good cameras, however the model numbers escape me at the moment.
