Ok... So after buying a meter reader and checking the battery... with the engine off yesterday i was getting 12.96 and today i got 12.76.... with it idling it goes up and down between 12.99 and 13.20 and when i rev it to 3000 revs i get like 13.38 or something along them lines but its not constant.

does this sound like a battery problem or the regualtor/rectifer or the cables.... etc etc ooo i now have a slow puncture in the front and almost bald back tyre!!!

Low voltages is symptomatic of reg/rec giving insufficent charge.

Not like a flat battery is a big problem for you at the moment, given the state of your tyres. :D

agreed although i dont fancy wheeling my bike home again for a couple of miles.... lol so you reckon its ht e rec/reg then and not the battery... is it worth trying the battery first and then if that dont work then getting a new regulator/rec

I wouldn't personally spend on a battery, only for the new battery to be ruined by the reg/rec as well.

IMO, replace reg/rec and invest in an optimate.

A battery charger, the most popular one on the market.

Don't use car chargers on a bike, they won't work properly (and will more than likely over charge your battery & kill it).

Anyone tried solar panels for battery charging?
I charged my CB250rs for two years, kept a knackered battery on life support for ages!

Anyone tried just riding their bike? :-P

Way more fun than watching the lights on an optimate1
