View Full Version : Adoption, abortion and IVF: Discuss
lots of stuff... hopefully I will never have to suffer IVF as I believe its a nightmare.
I also hope that you will not require IVF but I would imagine that if you did, then perhaps you would look upon it as 'part of the process' of producing a new life. Granted it is certainly challenging and uncomfortable and not really the ideal - however sometimes it is the only way. A nightmare? Never...just the way it has to be. You have to find the positives in these sorts of situations...look at the end game...in this case you would procreating - doing something you really want/need to do because there is no other way. It is not a nightmare. Trust me.

.
yes, i mean where if it was born and you left it would it breath and live like ful term babys do .
so are you saying that my son should have been thrown in the bin because he was under 3pounds at birth and needed loads of hospital treatment.
He wouldnt have survived with breathing apparatus etc.
He is now 16 and represents Aukland in long distance running.
What would you do Neio if you found yourself in the same situation.?
I do not see the traditional argument for deciding the cut off point for acceptable abortions of unwanted babies as naturally following on to being the same point before which, treatment is denied from wanted babies :smt102
i had an abortion 3 months after i lost a baby as i was told i might die giving birth and at the time my relationship with gid had just started. I had to make a very big decision and it was the right descion at the time i thought but a few years ago i struggled with what i had done i am against abortion unless the woman has been raped. As i have also had that done to me but i kept the baby as it was her father that did the raping and well now she is ten and growing to be a lovely young lady. If I couldn't have babies and i am quite fortunate to have three of my own i would addopt as i believe in giving a child a chance to have a loving home.

No limits on abortion and no limits on age for IVF. This is a free country after all?

Hmmm...
To quote a Metallica song (eye of the beholder, from the ...And Justice For All Album, 1988 - HA!! can't get me lars ulrich, I referenced it):
You can do it your own way, if it's done just how we say
Which seems to fit right in with how our country works, how it is run.
I think there is a limit on abortion aswell to protect the mother from too much physical harm?
