S bend today, into it fine, barely cracked the throttle open on the exit in 2nd at maybe 20mph but the back end came round and dumped us both on the deck. MissY_C appears to have mostly landed on me.
No injuries to either of us, except for me having a slighty bruised foot, and Maria having a fuzzed seam on her leathers.
Having looked at the road there was a tiny patch of diesel, but I can't see why this should have had us off so I can only surmise it was me trusting cold tyres a little too much.
Oh well.
The bike, after parting company with us, bounced wheels first into the verge and ended up at right angles to the road on the normal side.
Anyway, the damage to the bike was both brake levers, a slightly bent and "worn in" R+G, swingarm slider and barend. Complete with about 2lbs of vegetation and soil. If anybody would like some for a small potted plant then please send a PM.
Melody is a star, brought us a spare lever over, and we've been out on the bike again this evening due to being stubborn f###ers. Both a bit wary of right hand corners now but that'll pass.
Ironically, we had just dropped a deposit off for Maria's CBT next Friday, she does not appear to have been put off :-D

Blimey, normally I'd say something like "try to get back on the bike as soon as you can" but I see you're way ahead of me!
Glad to hear you're both OK though mate. Hope you can find a decent mechanic to put the broken bits right...

Think Maria was very calm too. She just said 'aaaw my leathers have got a grey patch on em now!'
. MissY_C appears to have mostly landed on me.

Bikes all fixed. New front lever (I've cut a notch in this one so it'll break off halfway if it ever gets knocked over while unattended...) And a bolt through the rear brake lever to replace the broken off bolt which was through it before... :-P Oh yeah I hit the R+G with a hammer and tightened the bolt up a bit too.
I think most of the mud fell off the rear caliper on the way up to dizzy's and back so you've missed out there!
Currently got some cans in and I'm busy getting sozzled nursing a sore foot.
We also had chocolate fudge cake...

Doubly glad mate- that you're neither of you hurt, and that maria's not put off, that'd have been a real shame.

Glad to hear there's no lasting/major damage to bike or people, I guess the mud will be there for another half decade or so ;)
Glad you are both safe and good luck Maria for your CBT and not being put off by your experience ...

He he he. What it really was was the bike feeling FAR too clean due to the rain... had to get dirty again :p

Oh unlucky mate, sometimes things like this happen. I thought I'd have an unblemished biking career but that soon turned out to be impossible, you just get used to little mishaps happening. Glad you are very upbeat still, it's always a good excuse to get a few cans in! Nice to see Melody being able to help others now too!

Like peeps have said, good to hear that you & miss yc got away without injury.
Bikes can be fixed quickly(as i'm sure you know)...the human body can take a lot longer.

.
 I thought the sacrificial notch was supposed to be quite near the end. I wouldn't like to be grabbing a handful for the lever to break in half!
& yes I like your money saving, but surely the bolt has done it's job  yes it will now hold the bung on, but will it work as well the next time you really need it? :???:
Glad all all 3 of you relatively unscathed etc. :D

only ever use 2 fingers anyway, that is more than the tyre can cope with anyway and the notch is past that point, about where my ring finger sits on it, so it's not a danger.

will be getting some motosliders soon so it's a very temporary measure to hold the thing in place.
Glad all all 3 of you relatively unscathed etc. :D

Ta for the well wishes guys, I'm just thankful we both alright with no real damage to the bike, phew! Shook me up a bit but glad I was able to get back on once it was fixed :)
Was a bit of a reality check in hindsight, just to say 'are you sure you want to carry on with the CBT?' lol, well had already paid my deposit by that point so there's no going back now

Yeah the mud can stay stuck to the torque arm untill the caliper next needs rebuilding :-P
Gutted though, the greenery has scuffed some of the grease off the swingarm... That's at risk of corroding now unless it hurries up and gets filthy again. hmph.

Tis good news to hear both of you will be OK and you have the bike back in riding shape already!
Props to MYC for not being put off by this...(most gals would be).
