Well seeing as I found this stuck on my bike the other day in the car park at work . . .

It's a bit crumpled as I screwed it up to throw it away, but then thought I might just show it to a few people for a laugh
Dear Suzuki Bandit Rider,
I'm sorry to see that your bike has somehow fallen onto its side, and burst into flames. This is not helpful to other bikes wanting to park here, etc.
Thank You, SV1000 rider

No problem with Bandit riders ... why should there be? ... its Harley riders we all hate right?!!? ... have things changed now?!!?
Mr Toad, its a cool letter 8) But for someone to write it, you obviously parked very inconsiderably. That is not big and not clever and given by your response to it on here, very ignorant of you to not take it on-board for next time!!
It really irritates me when people park with no consideration for others (especially when there is precious little room to start with).
This sort of "I'm all right Jack" attitude so many present these days really infuriates me!
And relax Blue_
I need to look at this when I get home to see what your all on about.

I've got a "This is a disabled bay, which is clearly marked [I]. Do not park here again!" one like that somewhere. :)

We have a dedicated parking space at work for motorbikes/scooters at the back of the underground car park - it's big enough to fit in a medium sized Boeing 747, and there's never more than a dozen bikes/scooters. Some over zealous security guard/carparking attendant/bovine management consultant put up a notice saying that bikes should park at right angles to the bays, with a hilarious picture showing a dozen bikes squeezed into one bay. I chose to do it my way :smt028
Hey my best mate rides a Bandit 1200. He's a top bloke fathering a special child who doesn't have an easy life so don't generalize please for his sake alone. Volvo drivers on the other hand...
Hey my best mate rides a Bandit 1200. He's a top bloke fathering a special child who doesn't have an easy life so don't generalize please for his sake alone. Of course there's loads of exceptions that prove the rule. One in particular oop North that leads amazing rideouts on his 1250GT, he's a bit slow though ;)Volvo drivers on the other hand...I'm glad you get where I'm coming from on this
I ride throughout the year. Believe me I know. It's worse over here. Your cage drivers are much better road users than our lot here, while our roads are *****.

Can't see the issue there. You've parked badly compared to everyone else, and its a nice POLITE note. Maybe look at whats written, and think about how some other person may write to you.
Im a bandit rider, and im sorry, but its far better than my SV650S. Not as "flickable", but then its a different type of bike to the SV.
For what i use it for, the bandits far superior. Sat at 120+ for a long time in France, comfortably. GF prefers the bandit. I just miss the low down torque of a twin compared to a IL4.
Spoken like a true blandit rider

Bet it wasn't exciting?

Errr former SV owner also.......
YEs it was thanks. For 6 hours on the bike, well i wouldn't have been half as comfy on the SV.
AS i've owned both, i can make a vastly better opinion than those who only have had the SV.......
Also slightly quicker than the SV, and the ABS works a treat in the wet on oily roads.
SV engine isn't as strong as the bandits either.

My first bike was a Blandit 6 that I had for 6 months. Was absolutely amazing, I was smitten, could out accelerate anything. Then I saw the light & bought an SV. Go & check my first post on here where I basically said I prefer the SV to the Bandit & I didn't even know that my SV was restricted to 33 Bhp
Don't have a problem with them.
Or with Volvos, for that matter. I like my Volvo.
It's w**kers on bikes riding like ***** that get on my t*ts. And pushbikers who don't obey traffic laws.

We have our thames vally meet in the same pub as the bandit owners club. Not once have they said hello to us and infact despite me trying to force a conversation upon them they as a group seem like the least responsive collection of riders I have ever met.
Also they all seem to have the most amount of pointless trick bits on their bikes, stuff that is just asking to be polished and doesnt make any difference to its actual handling ability.
...
Thank you, vindicated.
And exactly why I will never attend The Ace Cafe's 'SV & Bandit owners day'

Err this is the Bandit thread, not the Hardly Movingson one. ;)
Funny, I found the bandit six quick but a bit wallowy, but not as quick at the SV.
Thats fine Stu, but then if your talking 33bhp, i'll have an RS250 and wipe the floor with the SV.
I feel my bandit is much much better than the SV, but still has many room for improvements.
I do find it amusing though how SV owners (base of the sports bike ladder) are taking the micheal out of another Suzuki that fairs much better in its own class than the SV does it its class ;)
Im with BlueSV though, why feel the need to seperate Bandit owners? They are suzukis, budget bikes like the SV.

We put it against my friends pointy SV650 (I had a curvey SV). Bottom end revs, SV was quicker, but get in the revs on the bandit and its slightly quicker and pulled to a faster top end.
Its very very marginal, but the bandits slightly quicker. Think its 81bhp vs the SV's 72bhp. But its much MUCH heavier than the SV. (oh, mines the 656cc oil cooled model). Latest one is water cooled.
Tanks much bigger too, less fillups. :D Even more weight :(
Bandits a great bike for what it is and what its designed for. Esp in its class.
SV is an adiquate bike, low down in its class, far far superior bikes in the class out there.
Also, whats WRONG with people wanting a bit of bling on their bike? Or should we ALL have exactly the same interest. My how much fun life would be there.
IMO.
Bit of a sad post considering its the same marque. Might as well have posted who's dads hardest.....

you do know I'm comparing a full power Bandit with a restricted SV? I'd take the restricted SV anyday. I'm not a young whippersnapper, I just bought a bike & even the seller didn't know it was restricted.

That's exactly where I'm coming from, I feel I should have an affinity with a fellow Suzukistas but am constantly met with examples as described by Bat Fastard

I didn't even know the SV had a class... :-k
SV is a small sports bike.

No its not
Its a Sports/Tourer
Well its difficult as head to head is never perfect, as if one person is on the gas a fraction more then they win. Then I've ridden the old 6 (T plate I think) and a 57 plate 650, and it just felt, how can I put this, well fat.

Eat less cake (and send some over).

I am, and that's another factor in head to heads...

Agreed, we're into the millions of factors which could make either bike...
But usually, he'd get an initial jump of about half a bike length, then i'd pull back more as speeds increased.
It is fat, its a heavy ol beast, but its certainly not to be knocked either. Shes gets cranked right over plenty enough. Its just on things like roundabouts, the quick flick change in direction, thats when you really notice the weight though.
I think i can ride my bandit much harder and more to the edge than I could the SV. MUCH more comfy too
I had a bandit 1200 - it was great fun, though ultimately a fairly crap bike.
Far better than the SV650 I had though!
ITs a budget bike.
Try getting of a Nelli Tornado and getting on one. You can SERIOUSLY feel the difference in quality  Watch those front forks bounce up and down on the roads, feel it wallow into the bends.
