Well they were supposed to have been where I was but would appear that moving so many of you is difficult :rolleyes: so I gave up (after 2 hours waiting about) and returned to the Green Welly for icecream :) only for them to arrive 10 minutes later :rolleyes:

I was the same, waited at Dukes pass for an hour to get photos no sign of bikes, so went back to the site. As I was heading in I saw some svs passing, but the road was just to quick to get photos.

I think the truth will soon come out in some other posts.. But in true Ecosse rideout style the first corner is never a good one! nothing major, broken peg and dented pride :(
(although we have never managed to cause a traffic jam and a second accident in the same place before! some random plonker in a cage canny reverse from what i gathered :mrgreen:)

What an absolute mega weekend. I start with how to get 12 bikes through Glasgow filtering 3 lanes. At the quiet side you sit and wait for the rest....to kick off the waiting we do some lunging

so we all set off..

Fizz and the pingus slept at mine thursday night .. and we met a few at Knutsford- we were about 20 mins late had to filter on M6.. was the start od about 9 hours riding..


flew up the M6 and arrived at the first stop for food ! super roadstop for truckers- .. penrith if I recall..

then off up the 6 again to the next fuel stop. couple of splits and meet ups as we missed stops etc and a bit of confusion in kendal but all well and good and we all got back together as can be seen in Dizzys pics on the roadside when luckypants and Speedyclare met us just after Glasgow..

Tilt had a lovely Tuono - in kendal there was a diversionand 4 of us went wrong way - we did U turn and Tilt's brake leve rjust snapped on him and boom down he went- luckily he has bungs on the side and the swingarm and the forks etc so a slight scratch to the can- spare brake lever on and away again..

I wouldhave like to have stayed longer and done Loch ness etc.. but I had a commitment at home to honour plus I was counting on a bomus at work to pay for the trip and I didnt get it - oops. so funds were tight.. ad nayway on my return I have had to spend 1.2 million £ on geromolene !!

it was truly a great experience
made easier and more enjoyable because I just had to get on my bike and enjoy the trip! all the hard work was done bu Northwind and Ralph and Kilted ginger and many others and I am very very grateful and I will most definitely be returning to your wonderful country- .. thanks a million guys - i really feel like I sold myself short coming home but hey - always leave em wanting more !!..


brilliant time- good company - everyone safe and .. well like I said once before- a bunch of strangers brought together by biking who after a day become good friends - it cant be bad that can it. !

so- the story of the Ducati on Diesel!..

( i slept most of the day today was so tired- now I wide awake- ha ! )



well we pulled in to the green welly.. and I heard a rumour someone had put diesel in their tank.. very surprised when I heard it was Pete.

easily done the pumps were not oo clear with the diesel pump having a green collar on and when tired its so easy ..

so off with the tank .. !

then a tank full of diesel to get rid of- luckily pete had not started the engine so empty and a quick flush should be OK. then fill with petrol. so pete £15 down already .

asked the garage manager if he had anywhere to dump it- he was nice guy but explained its illegal to decant fuel on his forecourt and he also had nowhere- .. so.. pete had to buy a container (well two) for a fiver each and with the help of yorkie chris they took it "off site" and managed to put it in the containers.. all this after asking a land rover driver if he wanted it he declined cos his car was super dooper or somehting- inthe end Jims sister in her ace little street Ka took it back to the camp and someone there had it..


pete was really good when we all took the pee.. diesel do etc etc .. I wouldhave been really annoyed h just took it in his stride.
