mornin all, yesterday i fitted a 47t rear sprocket and new chain, first of all it has made a difference to accelaration (pulls off quicker) although the bike does rev slightly higher than normal, the thing thats bothering me is that i decided to go for a heavier chain than standard, now when i apply the throttle i can hear a noise that was'nt there before, i'm hoping it's just the sound of the heavier chain. has anyone else had this noise or should i go back to standard chain?
ANY IDEAS PLEASE!

You tend to get more chain noise when a new one is fitted and at the right tightness. Just make sure that it aint too tight or too loose thats the main thing.
Hi,
When you say you've gone for a heavier chain, I assume you're still on a 525 pitch chain, just a different manufacturer and spec? Make sure it's well oiled (being new, should be fine, but will be greased not oiled, no idea if that'll make a difference). Have you checked the front sprocket is OK?

Edit: Also, as vardy points out, check chain tension

Could it be that you haven't aligned the rear wheel, making the chain/rear sprocket slightly "twisted" ?

Check it is lubed and aligned correctly.

thanks for all your replies, i've altered tension slightly and lubed it more, noise still there but not as much, i think it 's just the fact the chain is heavier.

Probably needs running in a little. Did you change both sprockets? And why did you go for a heavier chain anyway?
