a lucky shot whilst on a whale watching trip on holiday...pity I missed his nose

Where was this? I have watched Orca's in the Haro Straight off Vancouver island.

It certainly was.

We were in the Strait of Georgia off Vancouver itself so slightly further north than you were.

Fantastic pic, sounds like an experience of a lifetime

It was and it will be a few years before I could afford to go back.

Awesome pic. I'm very fortunate that my parents have a house on Vancouver Island so I get to do this often. Not managed a shot as good as this yet tho!

Just out of interest, which whale watching companies did those of you that have been use?

I know fella, would love to go back again. BC is awesome.

Absolutely fantastic picture!

As you say, shame you missed the nose, but still, a beautiful picture .
