Please tell me what parking restrictions exist on Seel Street L1.

Lad got a ticket there yesterday, so did his work colleague. But he says everybody else parked there was unmolested. He wants to appeal it. but in order to do so I need to know the current restrictions.

Tried searching the net. But cannot find any details

I found a leaflet online that said city centre parking bays in the 'pool are for cars only.

I can't remember what I was looking for at the time, but I came across this and thought, 'Oh, righto, thanks for letting us know'. I've never seen anything particually obvious about it anywhere else, like on the street for instance!

Here it is.

Obviously he should have trawlled the internet first before daring to park in a parking place.

Oh, and I'm not a scouser btw. Just a student there.

Why don't you ask a Police Officer at your local police station or a Traffic Warden?

Most disappointing thread in ages.

There was me thinking someone had invented a device to stuff scousers into tin-cans.

Think it's where the Zanzibar and Alma de Cuba are.

Near Mount Pleasant (it really isn't very pleasant) car park, which is where I'm parked today (£6 the day). So I'll have a look on the way home.

I'm thinking of a caravaning holiday.
Could a Pikey please advise me how best to avoid snaking that you sometimes get while towing? ;)

Lad aint happy today. His mate has had his van towed this morning. they are adamant there are no parking restrictions. Personally I don't believe them as that centre part of Liverpool is a parking nightmare. I guess they don't see why they should pay to park in order to work on near on minimum wage. It is costing him £15/day to get there in fuel etc. Add £10 for a days parking and it is 30% of their wage, near 50 when the tax man has had a bite as well.

Really?

Mind you, you live in Vauxhall so I can understand your narrow mindedness.

I walked the length of Seel Street this evening.

Every single inch of it has yellow lines. They're not bright and fresh but they are obvious. At the Hanover Street end, near the building site, it's double yellows. There's one bit towards the bottom of the street (ie near Hanover Street) where the road has been patched and the lines not replaced but you'd be a divvy not to realise. There are a few metered bays - £2/hr or part of an hour.

Sorry...

Thanks Ed

My lad tells me that they were told to park there whilst he is working on a development within the Liverpool One complex and that the restrictions had been suspended because of the development. I might hazard a guess that the single yellows may be suspended. But not the double etc. But he needs to get an official statement from somewhere quick if I am to challenge his ticket.

He parked there yesterday no problem. His mate as I say got towed. I asked him if there is any stickers etc. required to identify contractors to enable them to park. He says no. Guess I am going to have to pay his 35 quid.

OI!!! we have feelings you know :D

Sorry but I didn`t log on yesterday and only just seen this thread. Have to agree with Ed I`m afraid. Seel Street is all yellow lines, used to be all metered but then they painted the yellow lines and there`s only a few meters left. There`s loads of car parks nearby as a lot of that part of Liverpool is non parking. You do get delivery drivers stopping off there and maybe thats confused your lad.

Would also add is pointless appealing against it.... i`ve tried countless times when i`ve got tickets whilst visiting patients and its useless, they never back down :(

Nope nothing saying restrictions didn't apply.

It's an interesting street, some of it up and coming, bits where it's a right sh*thole. Much like Vauxhall really (can't resist, SK!)

Patches mean yellow lines not continuous, means not enforceable. Therfore should get off scot free. Ask Spiderman for authoritative position
