View Full Version : Tyre shopper .com
Ive just ordered some conti force tyres off tyre shopper.com and discovered they fit them through national tyre and autocare.
It's well known that national don't do wheel removal, but supply tools and stands.
Question is how difficult is it to remove the wheels and how long should I expect it to take?

It's easy. It's putting them back on that's the fun part!
When you've done it a few times, 10 minutes.

errr if you have paid for them to be fitted you should have them fitted... not turn up and you do the work...??
Call em up and tell em to stick it if you get there and find you have to do the work... !

no, national don't remove bike wheels, you either take loose wheels in or remove them yourself in the workshop, they don't accept payment for the act of removing the wheels so you can't expect them to do it because you've paid for it...
on the plu side i take all my tyre needs (car and bike) to them because the guys at my local are spot on and they do good work

what i was getting at was if the website tells you that you have paid for fitting... roll in roll out...surley thats what you should get...
I paid £195 to have new tyres supplied and fitted, If I had turned up and them lend me a spanner they would have had it inserted...?
Im not saying ur wrong... just that its a little bit off (mind you i do not know the wording at point of sale) ....

what i was getting at was if the website tells you that you have paid for fitting... roll in roll out...surley thats what you should get...except on the website www.tyre-shopper.com when you click on the motorbikes tab it says in big red letters:
PLEASE BE AWARE:
Tyre Shopper will only fit tyres to loose wheels, though we do supply paddock stands and tools in branches for you to use if you would like to ride in.

yeah... and then read my last scentance..and the origional post says nothing about the website letting him know this.... just that he has paid for tyres and now ahs to remove the wheels himself...
Im not saying ur wrong... just that its a little bit off (mind you i do not know the wording at point of sale) ....

the OP didn't ask about whether national did it or should do it, only about how difficult it was to remove the wheels, you should read the website before jumping to the conclusion that:
if you have paid for them to be fitted you should have them fitted... not turn up and you do the work...??
Call em up and tell em to stick it if you get there and find you have to do the work... !
just a thought you know;)

yes I am sure...
I think you are missing what I am saying, I take your point on board that if you buy tyres on the website and it says "we do not remove wheels etc etc" in big red letters then you will know.
the op said that it was well known that national dont remove wheels, it is not "well known" it is known to him and anyone else that uses there services, not me or anyone else who has never used them or bought tyres trough tyre shopper...
My comments were based on it not being well known...as it is unusual IMHO for a tyre fitting service to be offered if you cannot reomve the wheels, and as such my comment stood that if you had paid for roll in roll out and then were expected to remove your own tyres thats a bit off.
its all irrelevant any way..... as It doesnt effect me and were talking 6's and 7's.

except you don't "pay for a ride in ride out service" - and that's clearly stated on both the tyre shopper and national websites, yes, if you had, and then you were told to bring loose wheels it'd be a bit off but as that's nowhere close to being the case your point is completely irrelevant:p

I agree completley.. but look at what the OP origionally said..
He did not say " having bough them I have since found out xyz" the phrase was ............. oh i give up... its irrellevant any way..
