At last I can reveal where our splendid sv650.org annual rideout 2009 will be.....

The Huntsman and Hounds
Althorne
Essex
CM3 6BJ

http://www.huntsmanandhounds.co.uk/ (http://www.huntsmanandhounds.co.uk/)

It's a traditional Essex pub, with large campsite behind. Showers, parking, food etc. Welcoming, family run and no close neighbours.

There's also a small motel within a mile - pm me for details.

Costs to follow...

That particular marquee on their website is not part of our plan. The photo was taken at a different event.

There are, however, wet weather plans afoot!

I'm also offering substantial gifts to the weather gods

We looked at that. But the cost per person to afford it would have been too great. As Sally has said, plans are being made.

Well seeing as Essex is in East Anglia I would say that I was right when I said it was in EAR. The fact that there is a section within a section is not my fault. Who called it EAR and decided Essex was exempt and that they had to create their own section? Huh? Eh? Wasn't me.

Besides, the actual location was not known when it was decided to choose East Anglia.

I cant be sure as I don't actually know the intended route yet. But I think you might find the ride out a little easier going if you chose the bike over the boat.

The River Crouch is a couple of miles from the campsite so you could always bring the bike by boat - depending on size of course !!

I can even provide details of the local marinas if you so wish

Yep plenty of moorings on the Crouch, think you can get alongside at Burnham on Crouch on high water. Otherwise you can tie up on the opposite side of the river at Creeksea (Baltic wharf). It might be alongside a Russian timber ship, but there's a shoreside crane to help getting your bike ashore without getting it wet & salty

Yep. I guess M1/M25 is marginally worse than M54/M6/M1/M25, I get two additional motorways. How cool is that:cool:

Assuming everything works out & I attend this years AR, I'll probably come A5 then M54/M6/M1/M25/A414 (think it's the 414 anyhow). It's either that or A55, M56, M60, M6, M1, M25, A414. Now that's a thrilling ride! :(

I shall be there come hell or high water! 2 bikes in the back of the van, A38, M5, M25 then up. Will be bringing mod cons like kettle and sound system (maybe even bring my decks and do a bit of drunk DJing!) if there's power points (is it 110v or 240v?). Mattress in the back of the van means my tent wont blow away or get a hole in it this year!
