Basically the lad said he swerved to avoid a fox in the road.
Bottom line, the car did its job and walked away almost unhurt!

Isn't that the guy who did the paint depth gauge and spend days polishing it with yak boob brushes and maiden's urine to wash it?

Young driver, fast hatchback, "faults on the braking system"? Driver error more like.

Was it an arctic fox?
The latest model Corsas have been known to have braking problems, so I'm not at all surprised to see this. My youngest daughter's boyfriend works for our local Vauxhall dealer and he's told me they've had a couple that have suffered complete brake failure.

but in the design out of interest to brakes fail "on" or "off"
This guy is saying complete rear wheel lock up meant loss of control?

I've had non-stop problems with my Corsa VXR - anyone want a list? I wouldn't be surprised if this was due to a mechanical fault rather than driver error. Supposed to be a safe car though in terms of structure, air bags etc. Bet that got his heart beating...
wouldnt mind a list.. to be honest
i doubt he will swerve for a fox ever again! I heard a similar story about someone swerving for a badger ending in the same result.

He didn't have a passenger playing silly beggars with the handbrake, did he?
It has been known.

I swerved to avoid a Muntjac deer once, ended up rolling my Astravan 4 times and writing it off. I still hit the deer and killed it. 2 years later I had another jump out in front of me while I was driving a Mk2 Granada 2.8. I didn't swerve that time, and all it cost me was a broken grill, headlight and a bent bumper.
I don't swerve for anything now, and I dare say if a human jumped in front of my car I'd quite happily hit them than risk my own life trying to avoid them.

I've seen banana shaped mini's cause of this... Only it wasn't the passenger it was the driver. He'd only had the car a few days as well.
And earned the nickname Cabury's (as in Mini Roll)
