Just been to Lidl in Wrexham and got myself a tank bag for the Ireland trip. Not sure about the name emblazoned on the side though!!!
Let you know how it holds up :)

hmm might have to nip and see if there is anything left in the whitchurch one being smaller than most, lots of stuff already been ransacked though apparently so hadn't bothered, might wait for the Aldi stuff but have given me hope, nice diversion for my route home tonight too :)
I got a tank bag from one of the two of them last year, 2-3 layers with map pockets and stuff, really good, use the base one for my camera accessories, but so much storage with the full thing and my top box :)
hope it stands up to use, haven't used mine much but so far its doing fine.

Cheers Brettus, it looks like it can hold a fair bit when expanded, plus i needed the map pocket on top! (believe me). To be fair £18 aint bad either. Quite a few in the baskets in Wrexham, looks like the rainsuits have sold well, all bar one size M left, talked to the checkout girl and one guy bought 10 of them!! They be on ebay soon at an inflated price i bet

Heh yeah typical that people buying up loads, seems to be becoming more prevalent. I'm hoping for a rain suit so saved me wondering about wrexham at least :)
aldi have them in this weekend if all else fails.
sounds like a good run to ireland, just for the trip itself or an event?

Just for the trip itself, so look out for plenty of pics on our return...Mind you we aint going till June. Just sorting out how things fit on the bike so i got it down to 10 minutes of a morning instead of like 2 hours and pleas of help to .org members........as Mike (luckypants) can testify! :D

If you struggle to get stuff in Wrexham, you can come over to Denbigh Lidl as they often have stuff left over. Also Aldi in Mold is less busy to you might get something there.
And there's one in Shrewsbury too, on the north side of town so you don't have to go into the centre.

I got a cheap tank bag from Busters last year, the only problem was that it didn't have the straps so you could use it as a rucksack. The Lidl one looks OK but doesn't seem as big as the one I got.

Got a Lidl one last year, can't complain about it for the money.
Mine did have the straps to make it into a rucksack

None left in Colwyn Bay , there was on there when I popped in yesterday and some guy with a Ducati bought it ..... he was outside trying to fit it and wondering why it wouldn`t stay in place ....... I hazard a guess that he had a plastic tank of some sorts .

Chap at work went into Lidl in Ipswich. All the M/c stuff had gone, although the girl said they would restock.
Was the guy with the Duc, the one riding around in the snow and falling off, the video was posted on the Org.
Guess it was as he was trying to fix a magnetic tank bag to a plastic tank.
He should use 'no more nails' next time :p

Bought one of those tank Bags myself the other day, in the Bangor (N.Wales) Lidl store, there was quite a few there if anyone local fancies one, along with a load of other stuff that nobody seemed to be buying!
- was a bargain for £18 ;)

Aldi are doing bike gear this week , grabbed myself some thin gloves as an extra layer and their kidney belt is excellent value .

It`s a good bit of kit isn`t it , I like the way you can remove the Thinsulate layer for when it isn`t so cold ...... will put this to the test on Wirral Egg Run this weekend :)
Tank bags all sold out in Wrexham last week. Managed to get one in Denbigh today.
It's good to be-square!:)
