As above, I bought the castle nut tool off ebay but didn't realise I need a massive hexagon bit too...

I'll collect and bring it back, or you're welcome to pop round for a brew and a chinwag...

Also, what grease should I use on re-assembly of the swingarm? Lithium? Something else?

probably lithium don't quote me on that though. I use castrol high temp l&m bearing grease (IIRC)

The socket size is 19 on one side and 17 on the other (I think) can never remember. Have you a large adjustable spanner you could have a gentle go with? or use mole grips or something to hold the 19mm side and try and undo it at the 17mm side (bit bodgey though).

Good luck

Do you mean a socket or a 19mm allen key?

it's basically a 19mm allen key but you can get them in socket form:

I got a 12mm for the front wheel axle from halfords but they didn't have any as big as 19mm...

It's recessed into the frame and the outer edge is threaded for the castle nut so I can't grab it with anything.

I don't have a 19mm allen key either :)

Surely someone must've removed the swingarm on a pointy?!

19mm is huge - my set only goes up to 17mm.

hmm...

that should fit one end in a 19mm socket and I can use the other end in the swingarm pivot bolt...
