(so as not to derail magnum's thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1897041#post1897041) any further with all our insurance costs)
If you don't mind me asking (I know some people can get a bit funny talking facts & figures so don't post up if you're one of them), how much is your insurance? It seems to vary so wildly from policy to policy but I can see there is some kind of formula to it all...

Also with Norwich union through A-quote, did you take out the "hero" recovery though the RAC?. I did as it seemed to be one the few that specifically said they would recover in the event of an accident.

I am, this time round... just scraping in as a child of the 80s. Forgot to mention the two claims in my recent history above though, one at fault and one not. Without those to mention, I'm sure it would be less than a lot of the younger ones are paying.

Seems like there's not too many with the 'bad' London postcodes (in one of which I reside lol) - I think the 4 are SW, SE, E, and N IIRC. Area & type of bike make a HUGE difference as I found out at my last renewal, the wrong combination will send your (my) insurance rocketing.
Anyway:
Bike: Suzuki GSX-R750 2008 & Honda CBR600F 2002
Age: 28
Licence: 3 years
NCB: 3 years
Postcode: SW
Points: 0
Claims/Accidents: 0/0
Security: Garaged/alarm (that's what the insurance care about but there's plenty more)
Includes: Legal cover, ride other bikes, full euro cover (it's only mandatory to offer the minimum insurance required for you to ride there), full euro breakdown, protected NCD, excess insurance
Excess: £500 (I think)
Cost: £985 FC with Express/Equity Red Star
If you want an idea of how good/bad your postcode is for insurance, you can find some information here (http://www.carinsuranceexplained.com/car_insurance_explained/insurance_postcode_risk.htm). I'm in "Refer" which cannot be good.....

Why's that a surprise lol? It's gotta change somewhere? Isn't that in fact the most likely change - a change of a single step? If it went A to F that'd be reason to complain :p

Hoping when I renew in June (1st anniversary of my DAS) it'll be a bit cheaper. The b!^&*$ didn't cover me anyway when it was nicked so I still technically don't have any claims against.
