busa and gixer ones are different, gixer ones are unique as they only came on (as far as i know) the K1-2 1000 which have 65mm mounting bolt spacings. although i can remember having a good look at a 1200 blandit and thinking 'those are the same callipers and discs as mine'.

mine are the GSXR1000 K1-2 6 pots which also have Teflon pistons and i can assure you they only have 1 fluid hole....
Different callipers, the Hayabusa has the older and better Tokicos which are shared with the SRAD and ZX6/7/9R's.

These 6-pots also feature on the GSX1400, they are interchangeable with the (again better) 4-pots from the early K model GSXR's.

um iv been off the org for nearly 2 weeks and seems my thread is still going lol. um right so YC still thinks USD forks are chavy hehe i like them. but im a bit confused everone seems to think i should change the brakes so can people feel me in please btw i have not got any of the parts yet so i can steel change the set up. also if im changing this stuff will it still fit seeing as if i use the gixxer k1 brakes i might have to shave a bit off the mounts but apart from that it will fit fine also what will be the benefits of this if i was to change the set up ?

As I put before, if you're discs are too wide then TL1000R discs are thinner and might save you shaving anything yet identical fitment / size to GSXR1000K1/2 / Hayabusa (plus a tadge lighter).

As an example I have at the moment GSXR1000K2 discs fitted to a TL1000R wheel fitted to hayabusa forks and calipers...

I'm pretty sure they're identical, check the microfiches, I think from the discussion going on here that the hayabusa 6 pots are better than the GSXR1000k1/2 / TL1000R but I'd go with the SRAD or TL1000S 4 pots rather than the 6 pots, very little difference in braking power, much lighter and far less maintainence required (less to go wrong).

The TLR discs are only 0.5mm thinner but if that avoids skimming the mounts it's worth it (plus lighter in weight), from memory they're 140quid each new from Suzuki.

Oh yeah and don't forget that this only applies to OEM, EBC etc would give you an identical disc to GSXR1000/hayabusa, ie 5mm (wear limit 4.5mm) rather than 4.5mm (wear limit 4mm).

So all in all i could just change the discs to TLR discs which would keep me from shaving the calipers mounts. i didnt know that the gixxer k1 calipers were 6 pots i thought they were 4. so i could use ether TLR or busa calipers ... but will these bolt onto the gixxer k1 USD forks ? also what year would the discs come from and would the calipers have to come from the same year or dose it not matter

I don't know that, you'll have to check as I don't know how much you'll need to shave, it all depends but it's always better to use different parts rather than alter things.

Yes GSXR1000K1 are 6pots, as far as I'm aware they're all identical fitment but I think TLR have steel pistons (busa are coated alloy) and GSXR1000K1 has only one cross hole rather than two.

Again though seriously don't bother with the 6 pots, more grief than they're worth, go for the TLS or SRAD 4 pots although I'm not sure if there is any difference between them.

um i didnt think i was going to use 6 pots anyway now its just to find which 4 pot is better between the SRAD and TLS also thanks for your post earlyer i think im going to have to use the TLS caliper bolts :P

About the same, both will probably need a rebuild.

Dunno about TLS bolts, I said TLR bolts (major difference between the two bikes).

ok TLR bolts then. So both of the cailpers with fit the usd forks. But they will probly need rebuilding which ant that bad so they are both the same. ones not better then the other ?
