We were chatting about this at work today, and people were surprised that Pete and I had met online, although a girl I work with had met her boyfriend through Facebook.
So how did you meet your other half?

Closest person I have to a gf I met online....A friend was talking to her and he invited us both into a big msn convo and i liked her display pic so I added her, we started talking and after a few days got on really well after she realized I wasn't a popular d1ck, that was in january, we've talked every day since then its a bit long distance though.....

We used to hang around in the same circle of friends,at the start we were both seeing someone even though people had suggested we would make a great couple.
Finally we started seeing each other & 17yrs later were still together with 2 kids & a mortgage (not married though)....i don't believe in rushing into things:D
Kidnap seems to be best for me but i'm single at the moment believe it or not.

I was out at a club and was absolutely smashed off my tits. Kerri was a friend of a friend and through my drunken eyes fell in love. I think I spent most of the night trying to be cool, funny, a good dancer and very sweet where as in actual fact I couldn't speak, was stumbling about, swearing alot and had forgotten who I was.
The end of the night comes I had sobered up enough to start remember things and we kissed. She said she was going to a party would I like to join her and I said No.
I asked her if we could swap numbers and she agreed. As I was so hammered I had forgotten her name and as we had just kissed I felt it rude to ask her name after that so she was put in my phone as 'I Dunno'
I then kissed her goodbye and ran to meet my mates the other end of town who on seeing me were like 'What the f**k are you doing here?' I just said ah she was going to a party and I said I didn't wanna go.
They just looked at me in disbelief. 'F****k'
I then turned around and ran what felt like miles to catch her up but maganed to run straight past her thankfully she called after me to which my excuse as to why I was running past her was that I was running with my eyes closed ???
The next 3 hours were spent with me being absolutely knackered and sobering up trying to leave but I didn't want to leave without saying 'Goodbye, (insert name here)' and it wasn't until 4 in the morning that someone said See you later Kerri and bang that was it knew her name, said goodbye, went home to bed.
The next 8 months were spent with me asking her out and her saying no!!!
Then she finally caved :)
She came and sat next to me on the wall one Sunday at Rivington top barn. Said nothing all the time then left with her dad on bikes. A few days later I noticed she was on one of the bike sites I frequent. Started chatting on MSN and had a laugh about it. She was actually there to meet another of the lads off said site. I tried to help out playing cupid but the other lad was a bit of a plonk and she took a shine to me instead. Lucky bitch eh

Havent got one anymore, but met the ex wife in a Cafe that we used to frequent every night & at weekends when we were at school. She was working as a waitress in a ....... Sorry, Human League broke out then, but she did work as a waitress part time there :)
Little bit complicated.
I used to be in a band and we played cambridge folk festival a good few years on the trot. She saw us, and then a couple of years a go, she and her friend saw me and had a photo taken with me.
Fast forward a few months, the friend contacted me on my music myspace thing, then a bit later introduced me and Izi over msn. Spoke to her and agreed I'd come and visit and see how we got on for the day and take it from there. That was nearly 18 months a go :)
I was single, she was single, my Uncle drinks with her dad and one night I joined them and after a few pints they decided I should take her out - the rest is history!
(She always moans that her Dad chose her boyfriend (now husband!) )
On a first aid course.
Missus was detailed off to pretend to be unconscious. The instructor asked what the best position for her would be, I blurted "missionary" and after she'd smacked me we went for a drink - we've been married 11 years now

Went to Stafford for a leaving do for a mate who was off to Germany in the November.
In the nightclub got chatting to Mrs A and her friend then started dating her friend for a wee while. Mrs A then starts to stalk me telling me that I would be better off with her.
At Christmas time I was back in Stafford and Mrs A finally convinced me that I should be with her. Stayed at her house for xmas and we went out on xmas eve and were both a wee bit drunk. She asks me what I would say if she was to ask me to marry her so I tell her that she would have to do it properly by getting down on one knee with a rose (thinking that there would be no way she would find a rose on xmas eve).
5 minutes later she is back with a rose on her knee asking me - of course I said yes as I didn't want to upset her at xmas.
Her mum came to pick us up and she told her mum the good news.
Next morning her mum asks me if we were serious!!!
Didn't know what to say as if i said of course not and she was serious then she would be upset.
If I said yes and she was embarrassed about being drunk and didn't mean it then she would have been upset.
Luckily Mrs A walked in the room as I was mumbling and stuttering to answer. I turn to her and tell her what her mum said hoping that she will put me out of my misery with an answer.
Of course we were serious she replied.
Oh **** I thought!!
Have to admit though that it is much better than my first marraige and lasted a lot longer as well. 10 years in November.

What I mean is, my Grandpa is an identical twin - he and his twin married two sisters. As a result, my Dad and his cousins looked spookily similar when they were young.
My Grandpa and his identical twin are still both alive and kicking. 95 in a couple of weeks (and their dad lived to 103).
the grandparents of my now ex OH lived next door to my best friend. we used to spend time together when he visited them. He asked me out when i was 16 - I said no. We eventually got together when I was 22 after staying friends... 3 years later it's all over.

Then I went to the ally pally motorcycle show, and we arrangd to meet...did it safely, i was with my dad and she was with her friend. It was great :D we've been together ever since. Was having an absolutly terrible night out in Halifax when 2 persons of the female variety came in to the bar and decided me and my equally bored mate looked like good sancturay from a weirdo who wouldnt take no for an answer. I got chatting to her and my mate took one for the team when we all went back to her place.
Left the following morning without her phone number but leaving her mine. Then wrote her a letter left that for her about a week later, the following weekend we met up intending to go for a meal but never made it out of her living room ;) Been living together for yr and half now.

We met via work. One of my work mates decided I had to have a gf before I was 30 (I was a few months off at the time) and set to work finding someone for me. After a couple of months of her trying her best and persistently trying to set me up, I decided "sod it, why not" and asked her prospective target out without letting my mate know. 2 1/2 years later, we are living together and I'm very happy. :D

Well a couple of corrections on the dates sides of things...
Met online about 11 years ago today.
Arranged to meet at the Worlds End in Camden - she didn't show.
Found out when I caught her online later that she had gone to the wrong pub.
Went and met her where she was staying, went for a couple of drinks and something to eat - I didn't know the area, she is a geographically challenged today as she was then, so ended up in KFC - oh and I turned up in a kilt :)
Went out for a drink mid-week (actually made it to the Worlds End), arranged to go clubbing on the Sat night (the location is about 5 mins walk from where we live now), she came home with me, she never left...
3 weeks tomorrow will have us Married for 4 years, and is also the 11th Anniversary of when Vixis moved in.
ooo, Im amazed your fangs don't fall out from all the lying. Wrong pub my furry butt! I may be geographically challenged, I grant you, but I do things like map out routes/make taxi's rich in order to get to places. AND I hobbled to the date on a torn ligament, so *raspberry*.

Actually I have grown rather fond of the central characters, although I went off Londo while he was murdering the Narn and pillaging their homeworld. I thought he had such a sad end. :rolleyes:
My favourite Character had to be Delenn, she had such integrity and was played by a good actress. Now about to start on the films, having been through series 1-5 and then maybe the spin offs too. Although some of the comments on Amazon about them can be a bit negative.
