not really, unless you can work out some sort of hand lever to shift the gears. Otherwise, your looking at expensive electronic systems
TBH, it may be best just to stay of the bike until you are healed. The lack of machine control and concentrating on another method of changing gear would make you prone to more accidents :(
Thumb lever for rear brake and then you need to make a linkage to run under the bike for a RHS change lever, brackets modified to suit natch. Did one years ago for a mate with no left leg.

been there, looked into the whole thing, through need, basically you'll need either an air shifter or solonoid shifter, I was looking to pair it up with an ignition interupt as well, but standard clutch would do, kliktronic (http://www.kliktronic.co.uk/) were the one's I was seriously contenplating, but not cheap.

Cheers Mark.
I was thinking something along the lines of a rod to the end of the lever, run up the side of the frame to a pivot mounted somewhere near the knee, and a right angled bend to a hand change somewhere up by the tank.

Basically. It's nothing that hasn't been done a million times by people like OCC.

Buy a Vespa... :-({|= smallest one I could find... + purple urine ;-)
Following up on Richies point - isn't this accident related?
Hire bike (Mana) or super scooter until the leg works enough to work the shifter perhaps ;)

Can you not get a cheap scooter to use for a little bit? better than having no set of two wheels

I'd rather sit in the middle of no mans land, smoking endless cigarettes with a luminous balaclava on, then have my tongue stapled to the floor with a croquette hoop.

I gathered that - but the rest of us don't go out and have knee surgery for fun ;)

yea its from the drunkin bit*h in the merc
The reason I asked was because when captain sense of direction decided to launch a goldwing at me and bust my ass, I got a hire car for the duration of the repairs and claimed back the cost of a suitable cushion ;)
You might be able to get an auto car or bike to keep you mobile until you're recovered enough to ride your own, on the other insurers cheque book.

I done the scooter thing, as soon as I was out of a full length case, little 125cc de-restricted (about 90 mph), was better than being stuck at home, even done a rideout on it, but to be honest it wasn't really fun to ride, still sat in my front garden in fact.
Cheers Mark.

How about a "super scoot" like a Burgman (400 or 650)? Not exactly cheap for a stop gap but bigger and more comfy than a "yoof scoot".
Dont Yamaha do a semi auto bike?? Again probably too expensive for a stop gap...

COMMON SENSE ALERT COMING UP
Just wait `til that knee has healed .
Scenario : You go out on an unfamiliar or modified bike , come to a stop somewhere , have a dodgy wobble (for arguments sake at the AR on a camp site) and that is your leg you are putting down to save yourself .... no matter how much you told yourself you wouldn`t use that leg in this event . OH NOOOOOOOES the leg is heading for the floor , it`s touching the ground in slow motion , THUD ....... GERRRUNCH , OWWWWWWWWWWWZ <------- add lots on eye clenching , shattering of teeth enamel from super gritted teeth and a big fat "Told you so" from xXBADGERXx .
You will then be having one of these as a permanent fixture on all of your bikes forever , just giving you some "Common" here Bruv , I know I don`t dish out good sound advice too often , but even I think this will be the beginnings of a bad bad idea .
FJR1300 comes in semi-auto, like the Aprilia Mana - both slightly more desirable options than the scoot, unless the knee doesn't bend at all. Scooter might be the only option if he's in a cast ;)

Mate you are better off waiting until it heals.
I know it must be killing you not being on the bike, but it is only for about 10 weeks, but if you do f##k it up again by dropping a bike on it, you may never be able to ride again.
Hope you have a speedy recovery mate
Would offer a pillion seat but you were behind me when i dropped it so you probably wouldnt fancy it lol!!!
Now stop bein a fool and let it recover!
Keep it mobile and it will heal slightly quicker, housework is good physio exercise!!
Will pop round tomorrow got some crackin pics from donnington to show you!
