Just finished putting in new pilot jets to replace my manky ones, also discovered that the front vacuum hose cap had got all mankey, so covered it while the engine was running. Revs shot up, so think I've found my main problem. Put a bit of tubing with a bolt in it over it, bike now idles fine and started from fairly cold with no choke.
Unfortunately, after bolting it all back together, the tacho is now gone. It was working earlier on, as I was using it to set the idle speed, but some time between putting the idle right, removing the carbs to make sure that the bolt/tube combo was secure and going nowhere, and putting it all back together, it's stopped working.
I know it runs off the front cylinder, so is there anything I might have dislodged to stop it from working?
