bc82 - Rockingham 22-03-09 was my first trackday, I managed to get quite a few orgers there too. It's still my favourite track.

And no, that's not a Girls only track day, I just thought it fit the bill nicely!
Any track that doesn't have chicanes is my friend!! I'd be up for that :D

I love Rockingham!
Although Cadwell remains my firm favourite!
Fizzy fish, there is a chicane but I was straight lining it.....Was a lot quicker....Unless I missed the curb and ended up on the grass.....About 40 seconds in I think
Oh and yes VT.....9:30 sharp at your house!

As long as it's not like that crappy slow one that they had at Silverstone I don't mind!

Oh no....It's not the quickest chicane (That's on the International circuit) but it can still be taken fairly quickly!

she did teach me a bad habit of straight lining the chicane at Rockingham National though ;) I had to try it once she told me it was the fastest route!
LOL, that's ace fun, only trouble is that lots of people don't and it's a bit tight to pass them when they get on the brakes before it. ;-)
Just to bring it back on er track as it were, my wife who is now a bit quick

First trackday she did was at cadwell, a month after passing her test, on a bike she'd never ridden before (my SV).
We then did mallory with hottrax, worst organised trackday ever, put us off using hottax for quite some while, she said if that had been her first trackday she would never have done one again. It was frankly a crashfest with zero discipline, the briefing summed it up really "Some of you will crash here, some will crash here"....
She thinks its a good idea to go for a novice friendly trackday for a first one but wouldn't say it had to be ladies only.
She would consider a ladies only trackday but for two reasons
1) This is what happened last time

2) She's pregnant :-)
Although we've been on many a mixed trackday and normally the only problem is that boys don't like to be beaten by a girl on a 400! ;-)

+1 I've had that quite a bit actually - people almost taking us both out in a desperate bid to get back past me on the next corner, especially when I had the SV!
Mind you that said I do know some crackers and extremely competitive girls, so I don't think it's just the guys
That kind of thing is one of the reasons that I like riding wider circuits at trackdays, as there's more space for passing eachother

To be honest, it doesn't matter if you are a girl or a boy - you will always get idiots on track days who are obsessed with overtaking as many people as possible!
One of the best things about the fast group is this kind of bravado doesn't exist so much. Inters is the worst as it is full of the "I have done a couple of TD's, got my knee down and now I have to pass every single person" type riders.

The thing they seem to forget is that an RVF400 will outbrake nearly anything, especially with a 9 st (in full kit) rider...
Other one she said was horrible was the groups of 'mates' who were all riding together and if one passed the others would force their way through too.
