Yes your mental.
And if you can afford it, get fully comp on a very nickable bike like a busa.
*edit*
Or at least TPFT cover.

Yes mental. Very mental if you think a Busa is what you need!
bike like that you need fc really a drop'll right it off and there a bit nickable.
Go for it - but get a test ride first, in case it doesn't fit.

yeah there a surprisingly tight fit.
Do the maths. If it doesn't make financial sense to pay the extra for FC (like if it's £850 with £400 total excess or something daft like that) then don't get FC. But if FC seems like good value get FC.

for the first year go fully comp if you can. if you are going to drop it you'll do it then. shop around as well, my modified busa, 660 tenere, ktm 250 exc and 750 super tenere are only £320 fully comp for all 4 with business use. insured through ebike
insurance is the least of your worries, running costs are the killer if you use it a lot.........
1200 miles out of a rear tyre, 2500 ish out of a front although I have just changed to michelin road pilot 2's so should get better milage. 8000 miles out of the original chain and sprockets, and dont even mention brake pads............

the busa in my garage is an x stolen one :( and yes the rear caliper was seized while it was standing outside my mate house :( id say you need comp unless your have somewhere secure for it to sleep over night.

Back ones aren't bad, very similar unit to SV. Front 6 pots are horrible.

Dave I'll tell you a story. YC knows the man I'm going to tell you about.
There is a friend of mine who is a very big, tall, beardy, heavliy tattoo'd biker..who had a rather tasty Bandit 1200 in black.
Everyone knew this bike and its owner very well. The bike was stored in his house, which was a feat in itself to even get to, and was guarded heavily by two German Shepherds with sharp pointy teeth, so was very unlikely to be stolen, and he only insured it third party only.
He met a new burd, and parked it outside her house one night. Two streets away from me. At 11.30pm he banged on my door, desperate.....as it had just been stolen. He'd only been at his burds house an hour. Did I say it was only insured third party only? It was never recovered. It was his baby. He was gutted.
Moral of story.....go third party FIRE AND THEFT or fully comp

As above, unless the difference between 3pft and tpo is more than the premium+excess, then i'd say you have to, unless you can afford a potential loss.
Imho with all that plastic i would be more thinking about comp vs 3pft rather than tpo vs 3pft, but at the end of the day, you are a nutter :)

He could always street fighter it before he chucks it down the road, then he could put the plastic back on to cover the damage ;):thumleft:
